What are everyone's favorite planes to fly on??

I have 2! The 777 is nice and roomy and great for cross country trips. For the shorter hops I prefer the CRJs. I go out of my way to fly on these planes if I have a choice.

Anyone else have a preference?

Kelley,

I prefer those ones outside of Toys R Us that take quarters and gently rock back and forth.

Truthfully? I enjoy the big 777s. They are the ones I have taken to China (and brought my babies back home on) so I have a special place in my heart for them.

I surprisingly enjoy the CRJs too! I flew one in June and the ride was very speedy and smooth.

I usually end up on a 737 (Continental) and find them to be way cramped. CLE to LAX is a looooooong route on one. Of course, I am burying my head in Mike's shoulder and digging my hands into the arm rests........Maybe I am not making the most efficient use of my space. :lol

I am a fan of the big planes too.

777 is my favourite.

Will be flying to US on a Virgin 747 in November.

What does a 777 look like on the inside? I'm flyin overseas next year and wondered if this is the type of plane I'll fly on.

oddly enough, I really enjoy the Embraer Regional Jets and the CRJ's- I have been flying alone for my job a lot, and I really like the ERJ's that have one seat alone on one side of the aisle...that way I can have both a window and an aisle seat!

For some reason, I really like the 737. I don't mind cramped, I guess. It seems to me to be not too big, not too little, but just right. And I like the Airbus A-320 too - I like that it seems like it's a fairly quiet flier (and the quieter it is, the less noise I hear out of the plane, the happier I am!)

Of course, if I had to spend more than 4 hours on either one of them, I might start to feel differently about them!

The 777s are BIG planes!

The new design on Delta's 777s have a 3-3-3 seating in coach. http://www.seatguru.com/airlines/Delta_Airlines/Delta_Airlines_Boeing_777-200_B.php

NICE and roomy planes. LOVE them! I feel like I am flying in a building when I am on one of these. They all have in-flight entertainment too.

Kelley, That is a BIG plane!! wow! On one of these suckers, do you feel anything at all?? I was at my boys football game and in the direct path of planes landing at the Kent County Airport in Grand Rapids, MI and there were some big ones coming in. They look strange just kindof floating up there....some of them look like they are barely moving!! :o

I have three favs...

The B737 - A classic, and very dependable. Besides Southwest fly them!

The B747 - It is another classic, and yet still competes in today's market. I was like a kid going up and down the stairs. A stairway in a plane! But lots of room, and like Kelley said about the 777, you feel like you are flying in a building.

The CRJ-700 - From large to small! But the CRJ is very quick, climbs to cruise with little delay, was quiet, and very smooth!

For REAL long flights, kind-of cramp. I think that flight to Dallas was almost 3 hours. That was about my limit. But a two-hour or less flight... would love it!

Kelley,

I edited your post to get your photo in. Don't know why it did not take the first time. More bugs to work out!

The bigger the plane the less turbulence you feel. I have barely felt bumps on the 777s. They do take much longer to get up in the air though - much more runway used than for a CRJ.

Oh yeah, and any plane flown by a pilot I know would be a good plane to ride on!

well, Kelley,

above is a pic of my favorite plane in the cosmos! y'know that song on the album titled 'The Long Spin'? This is the plane! I probably have 2500 hours in it and, if you ever get to Austin (bring the boys!) I'd be honored to take ya up for a snap roll or two! :banana

Arrrgghh!!!

You had to rub that in, didncha???

Are you slower than a cherokee? I didn't think performance was that different between the two.

160HP or 180HP?

I plan for 110 knots, POH says 120.

180 pony Lycoming AK4 is under the cowling. :dragonslayer

Probably the Sundowner gets a better "range" then a Cherokee as I have 57.2 useable out of 58 gallons. 10 GPH, however, I won't last that long, as the plane would outfly my bladder!

Nice plane you have!

Actually the Cherokee 180 POH says 110. And most cherokees I have been on (the 180s that is) stick to it.
I can take my plane up to 125 without too much trouble but since the Va is at 105 I dont' feel comfortable flying 20 knots above it. So I keep the plane flying at 110 anyway.
