So, I have come to the realization that the red sox make me feel JUST like how I used to feel when being on a plane, a constant sense of impending doom.
JUST WIN THE STUPID GAME ALREADY!
bottom of the ninth, one on, no outs....
Ah, isn't it nice to be a member of the Red Sox Nation????
2 outs bottom of the ninth, I feel like I am just about to take off, we are on the runway, lined up.....just throw the **** ball and get him out...I need an ativan 20 minutes ago, or at least a beer....
are we going to crash or land safely to fly another day.....the anticipatory anxiety is killing me...I NEED to go to sleep...

You hit the nail right on the head! I knew that what I was feeling (these past several games) was familiar, but couldn't put my finger on it!
The not being able to go to bed at a reasonable time plays in there, too.
But, yeah, it's all worth it!!!
Now to drag my sleepy, sorry butt into work.
This is absolutely appropriate today:deadhorse . Can't even feel the stick!
Go Sox:pompoms

I feel like I may never sleep again...thankfully, most of my clients are Yankee fans and just as sleepy.
I know you Sox fans really need a win but it can't be against my boys...Sorry...

I hate the burst the bubble, but even if the Sox should be so lucky as to win :booty (which is a scary thought :wired )...they will never rule. Because the Yankees have 26 rings. :whistle

WHY NOT US???!!!
I think that 26 championships are enough, does anyone except yankee fans even care if the yankees make it to the world series and win it yet again??? Jeesh, share the love a little :kiss
Either way, I was totally floored when I realized how similar my feelings about these last few games were compared to how it used to be when I flew, totally irrational anxiety brought on by a situation not in my control that is not physically dangerous to me.
Yes I am tired, and sure I was a little late to work tonight, but life will go on after game seven....and maybe just maybe, the Bosox will make it to the series.
WE STILL BELIEVE!

I know exactly what you mean. I was getting so overinvested in these games. Made myself exhausted watching them. I looked like this at work today.:wired Think that look will inspire confidence in my clients... I know the Sox need a win. Just not against the Yankees...sorry...
Janet, nice attitude...

Monica, et al
You know I love all of you, but, can just ONCE let the Sox win something???
Everyone's SICK to death of the Yankees winning. It's boring, for chrissake!
Monica, YOU of all people should support the underdog once in a while!!
Get on the sofa with your kids and show 'em what it's like to win something you haven't won since 1918!!!
See you in 6 weeks or so. If the Sox win, lunch is on me! (Sure, let's see who you root for NOW!!)

Deb, I know. I just said to my husband "those poor New Englanders need a win. We should be gracious". And he replied "Yeah, and it would be easier to be a Yankee fan in our house on the Cape." And you're right it would be good morally for my kids to see their parents being compassionate and kind people. All that said the Yanks better kick Sox butt...:woohoo
I'll be compassionate and moral tomorrow.
However, I have a feeling you will be springing for that lunch...
If the Yanks win I promise not to wear my 1918 shirt in public...
