I've been putting together my business travel plans for next year and I agreed to a travel schedule that will put me on at least 50 flights in 2005. On top of that, I will probably fly half a dozen times for personal trips. Either I've lost my mind, or my fear of flying is nearly gone. I am surprised at how little anxiety I have about this. Will I still have the Valium in my pocket? You bet! But walking down the jetway won't be a problem. My big question isn't safety, it's whether I'm still a "passenger of size" or not. I've been working on my weight, but I'm still not 17 inches wide. :idea I'm almost hoping they make me buy a second ticket so I can have the room to stretch out! Of course, last time that happened the FA tried to tell me that my second seat was across the aisle from my assigned seat. I don't want to implicate any particular airline for the stunning obliviousness of one employee, but they have big shiny white airplanes, a triangular logo, and their name rhymes with Schmelta. :whistle The upshot is that most of my travel next year will will be on Southwest, where occasionally I can use "Friends Fly Free" to take along the two inches of my backside that doesn't fit between the armrests at no additional charge. I also earn Rapid Rewards credits twice as fast and, unlike Schmelta, I don't have to put one cheek in row 37 and the other one in row 6 when I try to redeem the free ticket! :lol Plus, it's 50 more opportunities to bump into Ray. Happy flying!

LOL I about died laughing. I fly that same airline all the time and that doesn't surprise me one bit.

Now if I could be GUARANTEED that Ray would fly every flight they I would drive the 5 hours to RDU (the nearest airport to me that SWA flies out of) just to get on the plane..

Ya gotta love good old Schmelta Airlines. Another time they tried to give me two seats in the first row of coach. You know the seats... the ones with the solid, immovable steel barrier between them.

I'd like to meet Ray sometime, just to say thanks personally for the book, but I've learned that virtually all commercial pilots and major airlines are trustworthy. In the end, that's a lot better than trying to only book flights being flown by one guy on one airline. :bigplane

We should just charter a jet and hire the pilots on this board to be our crew. :ray :ray :ray :ray

Until that happens I will stick with Shmelta.
