My holiday was cancelled.

Hi Everyone,

I am very sad to say my holiday got cancelled due to the Ash. The company I booked with would not change the dates, they would only cancel and refund. This would have meant our Disney trip would have cost in the region of 2000 GB pounds more!! as we would have to book at todays rates without any discounts. Just have not got the budget for that this time.
We are however going to Cyprus on Wednesday, I know it is not Disney and I will miss my Disney trip. Still I realise I am lucky to be able to get away at all.

Will hopefully be in the skies 9am BST.

We are going to Disney for 4 days next weekend. They have a special for Florida residents and my wife insists that we all go. Doing 4 parks in 4 days. It's funny, I'm not to keen on going but Cyprus, ARE YOU KIDDING ME! How exotic! I would switch with you in a second!I guess it's all relative. I'll say hi to Mickey for you while I'm waiting in all the LINES!

Andy people say to me , why do we keep going back to Orlando? I just love it, the weather ,the people we meet, the shopping and of course the Parks. We have met up with a few people from the boards when we have been over there.

Cyprus is about 4 1/2 hr flight from UK so that is about half what it takes us to get to Florida that is the only bonus for me. The hotel is next to The tombs of the kings and is beautiful, different holiday as it is 2 weeks at the beach with my ebook reader. Yes at this time I would still switch but we got a good deal with our Disney hotel when we booked ie 40% hotel discount and free disney 1000 dollar gift card!!

I for some reason have never had any interest in going to Disney Paris:) To me it is the whole Florida experience rather than just the parks.

I fly to Florida on 8 May, hoping to do some of the parks.

Cyprus sounds great, having visited some of the Greek islands it is somewhere I really have an interest in visiting in the future. :)

A little off topic but we just got back from doing 4 Disney parks in as many days. Had a good time but it was HOT! Worse than usual and July type heat in early May. Noticed many visitors from the UK though. We are considering traveling to the US for the 2012 games. Not sure if that's a good idea or not considering the crowds.

AndyR, you're right. It has been extremely hot here. I believe that it is 94 degrees today and we have barely had any rain. The humidity is ridiculous right now. I was at the beach on Saturday and the wind was so strong that it was almost chilly! Luckily it is supposed to rain this afternoon, so maybe it will cool us off.
