My flights to Cleveland and back were good, smooth, and short. Mom is doing fine, in fact, she was released from rehab early and is putting around pretty well with a walker, hopefully a cane in a week or so.
On the way back, I ended up seated next to a woman who said as soon as she got into her seat that she didn't like flying and hadn't done it in years. She was flying to Germany to be with her husband who's working there...didn't ask what, but she said she'd be there for 3 months. I told her I used to be her and talked her through all the movements and noises and she did pretty well. Of course, she has the 7 hour flight ahead of her... but I pointed her to her gate, and she seemed to be most worried about making her tight connection at that point (it's useful that I know Dulles pretty well and was able to give her some landmarks to look for). Hopefully she'll do well. I told her about the site, but who knows if she'll visit us. And hopefully we have another recovering fofer out there!
