Everyone,

On behalf of the moderators and admins, I would like to apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced with the PM Spamming that has recently occurred. Rest assured we are working on preventing this from happening in the future. When it does happen, we immediately ban the spammer and remove all messages sent by the user. If you receive notification that you have a PM and come to the site and do not have a new PM in your inbox, we have deleted it.

Additionally, as is normal safety protocol on the internet, please do not click on any links in emails and PM's from people you do not know and have had no interaction with.

If you have any questions, feel free to PM any of the other mods or post here and we will respond.

Thanks,
Scott

Thanks for the heads-up, Scott, as I just got an email advising me that I had a PM at Taking Flight. Although the PM had already been deleted from TF, I was still able to read it in my personal email account.
It said "A virus alert has been noticed on your computer. We highly recommend you to check your computer and perform online virus check at our site immediately at ....link ... sincerely, Forum Administrator". Sending it to the "deleted" bin...

I hate to admit it, but I recently got an email supposedly from UPS with some information about a package (Not a TF PM). It had gone automatically to my JUNK MAIL, and didn't even have my correct email address. I DID click on the link,:blush: and got a message that the file was corrupted and could not be read. I'm assuming a virus had been deactivated somehow by an anti-virus program...I hope! I called UPS, and they gave me their email address for fraudulent emails using the UPS name. Evidently they do investigate whoever is impersonating UPS.

.
FYI...the spammer's screen name is: LadyAdministrator. So if you got one as I did, like Scott said, delete it and don't click on the link contained within.

Yeah, another one was sent out this morning. I caught the person early and I think the restrictions we put in place slowed them up.

Sorry about any inconveniences anyone experiences with the notification.

Again, everyone please remember we have NO WAY of determining anything about the status of your computer from here and do not send unsolicited links to you. If we ever needed to, it would be to takingflight.us - never anywhere else.
