Hi guys
Forum is looking great now, ive not been on for a while because work has been insane. I am thinking of booking another trip soon, but I find myself discounting places that are a large ditance away because of the long flight.
The fear thing seems to be getting to me again because I keep looking for holidays that do not require a flight. I am going to have to fly to America again next year (this time on business) so I could do with some practise before then.
Does anyone else subcontiously look for holidays without flight in them?
I was doing so well earlier this year, I think I am going to have to drop in here more often to get my confidence back.

Hi Chris,
How nice to see you back!!!
Sorry you are having problems again! You have however done this thing before, you can do it again, and again and again.
You do need to keep coming here to get the support of others and also to gain confidence in others successes.
I am off to Florida tomorrow, but when I get home would you like another UK Flightfest. Maybe December or January.
I know Yvonne would like one and I am sure Rosie would too.

Thanks Lynda, great to see your still flying. Its one of those things that if you don't do it for a while it creeps up on you, my biggest mistake was not booking another flight sooner, the more you do something the more you get used to it.
I will keep checking in here, ive been reading some of Capt Starks posts they give me confidence, I must get his book next time I am in the US.

Chris!
Great to see ya here!
I have, or use to do the same... hmmm where can I go that does not involve a flight. Then I wanted to go to England so bad... I booked it!
Before I flew to England I did a bunch of mini-trips-flights to get in practice.
Ontario to Vegas for example. That helped me quite a bit.
But take a look around.. and keep posting!
Take care,
Mark

Hey Chris, good to hear from you. I think it's very common to look for vacations that you don't have to fly to. Or to make up excuses why you shouldn't fly. Most of us have done that at some point.
I think hanging around here and addressing your concerns will help. Also, Ray might be able to ship you the book. You can shoot him a post and see.

Hey Chris -- Welcome back!
Do NOT under any circumstance, try to plan a vacation around whether or not you're going to have to fly.
No - don't do that.
You've done this. You know what you have to do. You know you can do it again. You know that there's a hu-u-u-uge group of people to support you through whatever you need supporting with/how/for.
C'mon, Chris -- work with it. Life's too short to make decisions based on what you're comfortable with.
You do what YOU wanna do. We'll help you with the rest.

Cheers guys,
I think Marks aproach is a good one, maybe a short flight would be a good warm up to a bigger one next year.

Hey Chris,
SEVERAL short flights. From December to August I was on a plane at least once a month, and sometimes more. They started out short, and progressively were longer till I made the big one to England.
Worked well for me!
Mark
