After having the worst anxiety I have ever experienced before a flight (crying, couldn't breathe etc etc). We left Wellington on a cold and windy day (which is normal) but I took my "happy pills" and they really did take the edge of my fears. The flight was a little bumpy in places but I "breathed" through it and also thought about the "jello" effect and how the flight attendants still were serving drinks etc even when I thought it was bad. Coming into Brisbane was quite bumpy which was unusual but it lasted about 10-15 minutes. I held my sons hand very tightly but made it. Coming back we left beautiful weather in Brisbane. Had near panic attact when I heard another flight to Wellington being delayed because of bad weather. I immediately phone my mother in Wellington and she assured me it was ok. I also asked the FA who were so fantastic with me and they said it was going to be a little bumpy coming in but nothing bad. They kept an eye on me the whole flight. It was quite bumpy for about 15 minutes coming in but nothing really bad and I was amazed I was ok. In saying all that I am VERY glad to be back on the ground!!

Glad you made it and as you can see, turbulence is quite normal. Truly no different than riding on a real bad road. It sucks, but it's the only way to get from point A to point B.

Have you checked out the guy who "lived" on a plane for 30 days? I asked him about the turbulence factor and he said the most severe he's felt was a 5 on a scale from 1 to 10. He calculated his flights in the month and it equalled to 4 trips around the world. He stated that he is definitely cured of his fear of flying.
