Hi from Dallas! I'll post a trip report when I get back to Phoenix but couldn't wait to share this news ... Southwest says it MIGHT have assigned seating in a year!

Please... I hope not!
With every other airline... when I have tried to get a "good" seat... THEY ARE GONE!
With SWA, If I get there ON TIME, I can have my pick.
PLEASE NO!!!!!!!

I agree with Mark. Though standing in line to board is sometimes a pain, I'd hate to see the good seats taken up before I get a chance at them or be a higher price.

I kind of liked the open seating too. I didn't think I would, but all you have to do is check in online, and you'll get an A.
Plus, if they didn't have that open seating, we wouldn't have gotten to see that idiot guy screaming at the Southwest people on Airline the other night because he was a C and a B cut in front of him. :evil Now that's entertainment. :dancers

Les,
I took the liberty to search Snopes.com for you and they don't dispute your report.

I saw that! You are right... what an idiot! It goes to show that I could not work for an airline because I would have been fired for knocking that guy out!

What, referring to Snopes five times in one thread makes me a Snopes-geek? :blush

I just loved how well those ladies kept it together. The one was trying really hard not to laugh, though. I would have laughed right in the guy's face. :rotflmao
I have to wonder if that guy watched the show and realized what a jerk he was being. Probably not -- people that stubborn usually don't realize when they're being complete idiots. :cuss

What I wonder if they have to get these people's permission to show them on national TV?
Why would anyone be stupid enough to be shown acting that bad on national TV... but then again... why would anyone act that stupid in the first place?
