I was just wondering if anyone has flown with Thomas Cook airlines. I'm going to Cuba in November flying from the UK with Thomas Cook holidays from Manchester airport. I've been reading reviews about the airline and most of them aren't good, with complaints of not enough leg room, rude staff and flight delays. I'm already feeling incredibly nervous and having sleepless nights even though it's months away, and now reading these reviews is putting me off wanting to go all the more.

I've never flown Thomas Cook, but I'm assuming it's a tour you're going on.

You can rest assured that safety wise anything that flies out of Manchester has to meet the very strict E.U safety guidelines that are in place along with rigorous inspections.

Safety will not be an issue, but legroom might be since this is a group tour flight....Can't vouch for the attitude of the flight crew either, but the trip will be whatever you make it, and remember that most people will post a review complaining about the service, but they are probably less than 1 percent of the people that flew on that airline, or flight. Can we then assume that the rest of the passengers thought the flight was at least adequate?

Im flying to Las Vegas in May with Thomas Cook, ive spoken to people who have had experiance with them and had good feedback, ive also checked out flight reports on various sites and they seem favourable. Cant comment on legroom as im flying on an airbus 330 and havent flown on one before. If you do happen to get cabin crew with attitude whoever you fly with let them know what attitude really is, i certainly wouldnt just take it, its us that pays their wages by flying.

Below is one of many reviews that ive read regarding Thomas Cook Airways this is in answer to a similar question to yours:

We flew to Dom Rep last August with TCX (premium upgrade). We thought it was WELL WORTH EVERY PENNY. You get bigger seats, more leg room, free drinks, headphones, water, blanket, pillows. Dedicated check in (we flew from Manchester) which was great. No queues. When you look back through to standard seats you certainly notice the difference in space. The plane was a 2 3 2 in premium and 3 3 3 in standard seating. We also pre-booked our seats in advance which meant we had the same seats there and back.

I'm afraid I can't comment on the long haul aspect, but I flew short haul with TCX last summer from Manchester to Ibiza, which I found to be a comfortable experience. The flight attendants were friendly (I didn't mention my fear of flying but I got the impression that if I had done, I would have had a kind response), and the legroom seemed fine to me. They were also very careful about safety - there had been a wing-clip incident at MAN the day before we arrived back there, and when people stood up before we had reached the gate they were immediately told to put their seat belts back on. Not a massive thing to mention but it can only be good that they're so attentive.

Best of luck for your flight! Katie

We have been with Thomas Cook a few times, we usually choose the extra leg room seating, it is worth the extra money.
I have not had a bad experience with them at all. The only real problem I have with them is the baggage allowance is dreadful after flying Virgin.
