Ive booked an internal flight with southwest for when i visit the usa. Had a problem as the site wouldnt except the credit card so had to contact them by phone. The girl i spoke to took an age to complete the transaction as she said the card wouldnt clear. I finally used a debit card and was told confirmation would be sent via e-mail. Visa have since informed me the reason for the rejection of the card was because the operator should have actually manually cleared the transaction which she didnt, also ive not recieved any e-mail confirming the transaction, as they dont have e-mail im going to have to phone again. This dosent appear very encouraging to me, can anybody put my mind at rest regarding this airline or are they an hit and miss outfit? Cheers.

I do know that Southwest is a lot of people's favourite airline. I also remember them going out of thier way to get Mark on a flight that he had walked off several times. When he did start to fly they had him giving out snacks!
I have heard lots about the fun things they do in order to help people feel more relaxed and I believe they are particularly good with fearful flyers.

SouthWest is one of the best airlines for local flights in the USA. They don't offer international flights, so I am not surprised that trying to book a flight from abroad causes them some difficulties.
My flights with SouthWest were all great; the atmosphere on board is certainly different from that of BA.

If the agent gave you a confirmation number (which she should have), just go here and fill out the information. It will pull up your itinerary and you'll be able to email it to anyone you wish.

Southwest is a great airline. I fly them every few weeks for work and they are a top notch operation. I've even had the "pleasure" of handing out the snacks too, since my bag kicked the snacks out of the overhead.

I've flown SWA a number of times...always had good experiences. Once got a special discount after leaving San Diego (via SWA) due to smoke from wildfires.
We've mentioned here a few times about their seating arrangement (no pre-assigned seats). Be sure you check in online 24 hrs. before your flight if you have any seating preferences. You will have more choices if you can get closer to the front of the boarding line (and that ranking is determined by when you check in, as well as if you buy the more expensive ticket).

Thanks for the link, i was given a confirmation number but nothing comes up just a message saying passenger name not known. Just an update i contacted the airline again by phone and there was a bit of a mix up, i had the last digit of my confirmation number as a 2 when it should have been a Z and the girl spelt my name with two L,s instead of one hence the failed e-mail. I have to say each time i spoke with the company the girls were a delight. Checking out comments about the company ive read nothing but positives. Looking forward to this trip now, seems a cool airline.
