Taking off from Cairns heading to Brisbane the weather was horrible. Pouring down rain when we took off from Cairns and we had some minor turbulance. I was a little freaked out but once we got above the clouds (within 10 mins or so) we were smooth sailing. That was my first take-off with heavy winds and rain. So now I've got that experience under my belt

I'm now sitting at the Brisbane airport waiting for my next flight, boarding in about 2.5 hours. I'm exhausted and hope I can sleep during the last leg to Auckland (3.5 hours). I've been awake since 2am this morning.

New Years will be spent over the Pacific, a half hour before we land. I might be sleeping..... oh well. Will be nice to start my new year off in Auckland.

 Cheers mates! Happy New Year!

Ive had a couple and they are not that pleasent!! But the best thing is it makes you realise just how skilled the piolts have to beena nd how much a plane can withstand.

I hate the bumping up and down. When we took off from Hong Kong on my way home to Perth it was crazy we were being tossed everywhere and then we got above the clouds and *ping* it was smooth and sunny and perfect! So its only really about 20min of the flight which is nothing.

Congrats on making it through. Hope you enjoy Auckland. I am hoping to travel there later this year let me know what you think.
