We will be making the trip once again from Manchester UK to Orlando.
I have the usual turbulence fears that are really the only part left of my fear of flying, ( unless something out of the ordinary happens)I know what turbulence is and that it will not harm the plane. I think I am just very afraid of motion sickness.

We arrive on Thanksgiving day, will everywhere be closed and will we manage to find somewhere to eat??? I am always very hungry once we get off the plane as I eat very little whilst flying. We are staying in the Dolphin.

Generally speaking, yes, most places are closed. I can't even get gas after 4pm in Oregon on Thanksgiving day. Then again, I can't pump my own gas in Oregon.

Hotels and some restaurants are good bets. Usually there are some good restaurants which have turkey dinners. I'm sure there are places in Orlando that will be open. If it's a nicer restaurant, try and get reservations.

Thanks Barb, We will be quite tired with the time difference and the 9.5 hr flight so will try to find somewhere nearby to eat. We don't pick up the car until the morning after we arrive due to me taking travel meds.
Reluctant to make a reservation as the flight may be delayed.
We usually if flight is on time reach the hotel about 4 pm.

Some of the cafeterias and family buffets are open Thanksgiving Day to serve turkey dinner specials to those who don't want to cook. Hopefully you'll find one close by!
Have a great flight and don't let that turb unnerve ya any! You are a veteran, and if you're ready to eat after 9+ hours on a plane, you have an imperturbable stomach!
