It's almost time for the annual flu shot. :D I was checking my yellow immunization record, and realized it has been 10 years since I've had a tetanus shot. So, today I made the trek to the Public Health Center, and for $10 got my tetanus/diptheria/whooping cough vaccination. There was a sign there stating that only 1 in 3 San Diego adults are up to date on their shots. I'll bet the Taking Flight group has a better score than that, considering how much we worry about things.

So...$10. is a small price to pay to not have to worry about getting "lock-jaw" if one steps on a rusty nail. I'd just as soon not experience the other two serious diseases either.

I asked the nurse about the Hepatitis A vaccine. She said that it is recommended for international travelers, and also for people who swim in the ocean (here in San Diego) or in public swimming pools.
I checked online...here's a link to the vaccination schedule for adults (recommended to print it out, and review it with one's Dr.). http://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/pdf/wk/mm5641-Immunization.pdf
