I'll be stepping up to my biggest challenge--a nonstop from NYC to LA. I've done this before, but not since I developed a fear of flying.

Here's my info for the flight this weekend:

8/29 Flight 217 Depart New York, NY (JFK) at 6:15 PM and arrive in Long Beach, CA (LGB) at 9:29 PM

9/1 Flight 212 Depart Long Beach, CA (LGB) at 1:05 PM and arrive in New York, NY (JFK) at 9:41 PM

Wish me luck! I'll post a report on my successful return (there's my optimism at work ;) )

As I have commented before, I really like long-hauls. It gives you a lot of time to relax and get in the groove of flying. The extreme boredom also reinforces the normalcy of flying. :D Let us know what you think about long vs. short flights!

Long Haul = Brilliant. I think its a serious part of the reason I was less nervous this time. Pretty good thing I live in Perth then ... look how far I am from everything.... 3hrs+ to the nearest important city! http://www.orthoticfootwearservices.com.au/images/australian-map.gif

Oops, I think I forgot to post my flight report here after that flight! Or maybe I put it up in the other forum. I kind of agree with Dachiri--once I am cruising on a long-haul flight, I relax. I don't get to that point of relaxation on shorter ones, and I think my perspective of the flight is more anxious because of that. I also really like to watch movies on flights, and you can't do that well on shorter ones. Movies relax me.
I'll be doing NYC to SF in June, so I'll get to try out a long flight again!
