When you travel by air, you expect ... convenience ... without delays.
Shoot, are you kidding? I don't expect any of that. I fly United.

My first take on this whole thing is that it is a bit of a Utopian dream and will do very little to deal with bad weather situations. I think I heard somewhere in there that the airline/pilot/dispatcher and ATC will solve the route around/thru bad weather situation--I doubt it, ATC as before will end up defining the routes. Having minimum spacing, like 5 miles apiece between a multitude of aircraft must have been thought up by someone holed up in a dark room for several months. Equi-spacing between aircraft in one continuous line means every one has to fly the same speed. It's a nightmare right now as I travel in and out of DCA thru Boston Center, New York Center, and Washington Center. Almost without exception we take vectors off course in order to accommodate faster or slower aircraft. I myself vary my speed from day to day on the same route depending on whether we will be early or late. I try to slow down for fuel conservation if we are going to be early but go fast to get there as soon as possible so every passenger can make his connection. Some airlines are flying at slower speeds all the time to save fuel.
Other comments I will save for later.
