I never in a million years thought I'd hear myself say that! LOL
I'm actually very calm, and not allowing the "what if's" to creep up on me. I'm working on thinking of the airplane like a big bus, and I'm not afraid to get on any bus, (even though I *have* had a close call on a bus, bus nearly vs. train...)
I think the thing that has helped me the most, and may be my "magic bullet" is the discussion we had on here about air being a fluid, and the Jello thing. I feel like when I look down at the earth while I'm flying now, I'm going to picture it sort of like looking down at a coral reef while scuba diving. There's something "solid and supportive" underneath this big plane, and it's holding us in place. I'm also happy about the discussions about turb, and how a plane is flying "within" the air and "going with it." I kindof think of "Crush" in the moving Finding Nemo, when he was entering and exiting the underwater stream (for speed). He bumped in, and bumped out, but he knew once he was *in* the stream he could just go with it, and get where he wanted to go fast! LOL
Probably not a *great* analogy, but it works for me! LOL
I'll send a flight report from Orlando, when I get over being stunned that there's no snow there! (We have 8 foot tall snowbanks in my neck of the woods right now!)
Thanks for all your help, you've made a believer out of me! I even thought I might just always have to be a bit nervous when I fly, but now I'm beginning to think I might just learn to *love* flying. Now *that* could get expensive! LOL:sunshine:
