Hi Capt;

For years I have had the fear of flying, luckily it still has not stopped me from traveling. I have an upcoming business trip next week and have always flown Southwest, but to be honest, I am having some bad anxiety about this whole maintenance thing....

From a captains perspective, is the media making to much of this? I have this image of the play coming apart in mid air... I praise Southwest for informing the FAA, as I am sure other airlines have simply fixed this problem without telling anyone.

I need help with this anxiety, any thoughts?:(

Hi!

Is the media making too much out of this from a Captain's perspective? Most likely. I haven't tried to delve into it yet so I'm not that worried myself. Boeing makes extremely sturdy airplanes, especially the 737 which is all SWA has, and the inspection schedules are usually a bit of overkill. I flew SWA (not my own) a few weeks ago and had no worries. I wouldn't lose any sleep over this.

Captain Hutch :thumbsup:
