The flight to Orlando on 4th November

We stayed at the hotel in Manchester airport on the night of the 3rd November prior to the flight. I find staying at the hotel which is in the airport helps the anxiety levels. Watched the planes land and Take-Off for a while before going to bed.
I got some some sleep but was restless.

Up at 5 30 am , feeling kind of anxious and want to to get in the airport and checked in as soon as possible. Once checked in the anxiety was not quite so bad.

I try to analyze why I have the anxiety and not to my surprise I find that I now only have anxiety over turbulence, not afraid of crashes or terrorists anymore just plane old simple turb!
I think back to the time that I used to sit in the airport and cry! I would get on the plane but could not even speak to anyone let alone eat or drink.
I realize how far I come with this fear.

We board the Virgin 747 - 200 plane, very comfortable as we are flying PE and are sat at the front of the cabin

The pilot said before we were airborne that there was plenty turbulence over the Atlantic at cruise levels.
Surprise I did not go to pieces when I heard that. I remembered what Debbie said about most flights being turbulent, somehow I accepted it!!!! I did not worry, I even tried the Rock me to sleep theory, It worked as I actually slept a little! Can you believe that!
The turbulence lasted most of the 9 hours or it seemed that way, not all of the time but on and off. The turbulence never got so bad this time that the cabin crew sat down.
I have taken a nice pic of coming in to land at Orlando if I can download it.

The time in Orlando was great, hotel wonderful and swimming with my Dolphin friends just amazing.

The flight home was a total none event. I kept waiting for the turbulence to happen, it never did happen and I had nothing to rock me to sleep.

Hoooray Lynda!

Glad you made it home safely. Deb's analogy of "rocking to sleep" is a great one. Glad it helped you.

Waiting for dolphin pix now!

Wow Lynda!!!

You have come a long way. I can't even sleep during turbulence! I am jealous!

Glad you liked the Virgin Atlantic experience!

Welcome home!
