Hey everyone!

Thanks for your timely response to my last post. Now try this on for size. I forgot to mention, in my last post, that the smaller the aircraft the happier I am. Also, against all logic, if I am in a prop aircraft I have a great time (even more fun when you have some turb.) So, I am getting ready to move to Melbourne, FL and I would like to go from MLB to CVG to visit my family back home. I can get a Comair (delta connection) flight on a Canadair Regional Jet. First of all how does everyone feel about their safety record (airplane and airline), how small is the aircraft (as far as Comair's config.). Also, I believe it is made by Bombardier, who makes Leerjets (right???). Thanks for the help.....Love the board....

Best Wishes and Happy Flying,
Nich

I was a first officer on a CRJ for the last 3 years.

Nice airplane, you will enjoy your flight as long as you're not over 4'10" tall and try to use the lav standing up.

I took one from Ontario to Dallas to New Orleans and return... found it to be a great aircraft. Although Chatpilot is right... the lavs are small.

As far as safety... no issues, and Delta is fine!

And yes they are made by the same company that makes the Lear, and for that matter the Seadoo, and Skidoo!

I love the CRJs. They are smaller than most of the other jets in the commercial fleet but the ComAir ones are nice - usually with the leather seats. Try to sit in the bulkhead or exit row for plenty of leg room (I am 5'11" and have plenty of room in those seats). The planes are quick and speedy down the runway - you're up in the air before you know it. There is only one flight attendant and you are served a beverage and usually a light snack (pretzels, crackers and a mint).

Because the cabin is smaller then there is very little room in the overhead bins. Your larger carry-on items will be given a pink tag at the gate and stored underneath the plane. Once you deplane just wait a few minutes and your pink tagged items are brought right out to you! Soooo easy. Also because you only have 40 to 70 passengers onboard you are on and off the plane pretty quickly.

Also, if you are flying into CVG on a ComAir CRJ you will land at Terminal C - everything is nice and new and well laid out. Have an Auntie Anne's pretzel for me!

I fly on ComAir CRJs about 3 or 4 legs a month. Love them and go out of my way to book as many of my flights as I can on them! You'll do fine. :)
