Born and raised in NYC. Living in NJ till my kids are old enough and then heading back to the city. Have a house in Cape Cod which I love(not only because we can drive). I'm a Yankees fan spending my summer in Red Sox territory. See, I do take risks.

Lived in India during my gap year.

Now living in and loving London.

But often residing on Io, or some other interesting place of my construction.

Monica, I never saw the movie, but I think I get the gist. It's hard to say that I "handled" it since I never knew anything different; it seemed normal. And often I was living on base and going to school with a lot of other military kids, so striking up quick friendships and then going our separate ways a year or two later was just our culture, I guess.

What I do remember not liking was living in Europe. Maybe I was too young and immature to appreciate the experience, but I missed the U.S. terribly both times and couldn't wait to come back.

Hello all,

I was born in Fort Frances, Ontario, Canada - a small town on the Canada/US border, right across the river from International Falls, MN (for those who know US geography better than Canadian). My family moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada when I was 4 and we lived there through till I was 19. At this time I moved to a hamlet just outside of a small town (Dryden) in Northwestern Ontario.

Rocks, Lakes and Trees seem to be the predominant scenery, with the occasional smattering of road kill just to make things interesting.

Wild city life - not at all. What we do have is beautiful, natural scenery that can take your breath away.

This thread is so cool ... when you've sweated through some of these flying issues with people, baring your soul and whatnot, it's nice to know more about them...

I was JUST thinking the other day that if I had ANY suggestions for this site, it would be that we had some way of knowing where people are and something about their FoF history, family, etc. I'm sure I'm getting people mixed up ... what with sometimes having a forum handle plus their real name ...

Then I thought maybe there IS something like that here already and I missed it.

I am in Richland, Washington ... one of the "Tri-Cities" along with Pasco and Kennewick, at the confluence of the Columbia and Snake Rivers. Born in Kennewick & carted home to the same house in Pasco where my parents still live. Craig and I love it here in eastern Washington ... he's from apple country up north in Okanagon County.

I thought I saw you at our local Barnes and Noble signing copies of your best-selling novel, The Color of Lint. Did it make Oprah?

Next time, you better let us know ... we'll have you over for southern-fried tilapia.

 Two brothers from a monestary decide to make a little extra money selling fish & chips by the roadside. Guy pulls up, says, "I just want some chips." First brother says, pointing to second brother, "I'm the fish friar. He's the chip monk."

Sorry.
