MAN Manchester
LHR London Heathrow
LGW London Gatwick. I love this place. Except there's no windows.
STN Stansted. I like this except I bought some paracetamol in Boots in the departure lounge and the woman asked me if I'd taken it before. Uh, no.
LBA Leeds Bradford. Grim.
BLK Blackpool International Airport (don't laugh, that's what it's called). Grim.
DUB Dublin. Not anything like big enough to cope with the amount of traffic.
AMS Amsterdam. Mind. Your. Step. Mind. Your. Step. Mind. Your. Step. And the toilets actually talk to you.
CDG Paris. My God. This place is GRIM! They lock you in a cage as soon as you clear security.
MAD Madrid
FAO Faro
ZRH Zurich
PRG Prague. As one would expect.
CIA Rome Ciampino. One of the all-time grimmest.
MAH Mahon
PMI Palma de Mallorca
IBZ Ibiza
LPA Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. About as exciting as the rest of the island.
TFS Tenerife South I think
JFK

CLT
BWI
ORD that psychedelic bit could give someone a bloody fit if they were susceptible.
ATL. Depressing.
LAX - didn't get off the plane
SFO
YEG Edmonton. Didn't get off the plane
YYC Calgary

On Sunday I will add LCY London City. Am expecting it to be grim. And true to form, thunder is forecast so I will probably end up stranded. Again.

Paine Field - Astoria - Newport was back in the '70s before my FOF hit. My then-spouse and I had a pilot friend, and we flew with them for a weekend getaway. It was in a Piper Cherokee. Most of the way we were totally in clouds and by the time we got out toward the coast we were bouncing like a yoyo and I thought it was FUN!

Years later, during FOF, my current spouse and I flew with another guy - one of John's banking customers. Another weekend getaway, to Ellensburg, via Auburn. We started out in good weather but it started to get a little cloudy over the mountains - at which point it was revealed that this jackass was not instrument-rated. I am not lying, I was sure we were going to die. In fact my heart is starting to race as I think about it. We were playing peekaboo with the mountains. I kept taking Dramamine simply in hopes that I would pass out. Seriously.

The next day it was gorgeous - totally blue sky - but I refused to fly back and insisted John and I take Greyhound.
