Hi Guys and Gals

I hope to fly to Florida transatlantic in Feb 2005.
Outbound on Sat and returning Thurs. Flight time about 10 hours. Work not pleasure

This will be my longest flight yet, and all going well, my wife might just get to see a lot more of the world on our next holiday.

I have a couple of questions.
I am used to flying 737, a320 and a321, will my flight in a bigger plane A330 differ very much, sensation wise.
I have been told it is not like being on a plane at all, and that you just get accustomed to it

How on earth am I going to pass 10+ hours, I doubt I will have a PTV as I checked the carriers website and it states it is dependent on the plane

Your advice as always is welcome. If this goes well, I feel that I will have finally broken this.
Take care
Chaz

Chaz,

Have a great trip. I've never flown on an Airbus but I hear they are GREAT planes! My friend's brother is an Airbus captain and loves it.

To pass the time you may want to invest in your own portable DVD player. They run about $170 at Target. Get some DVDs to watch - sitcom episodes, comedies, etc... Also take a book or a few magazines, puzzle book, snacks. Take a deck of cards and strike up a game with your wife.

Chaz,

The aircraft is larger... So sensation wise, you will obviously notice that. You will feel like you have a bit more room around you, and this is a good thing.

As far as turbulence, etc... it will be about the same. Some think that larger planes deal with turbulence better, but I have never noticed that.

Take-off may be a bit different. When I am on larger aircraft, it seems they are not going fast enough to take off, but they always do!

You say, transatlantic to Florida... I take it you are from Europe. Whereabouts?

Thanks,

Mark
