Hi Royd
With any luck we will be going to Norway over Christmas this year. The plan is to fly from Barcelona to Oslo then take an internal flight from Oslo to Bodo.
I was wondering what effect, if any, the extreme cold weather would have on the flight.
Thanks
Tracey

Hey Tracey,
Royd is out on a trip... I'm sure he will jump in and answer your question on his return.
But... I will tell you that cold weather will not affect how the aircraft operates. They may have to deice, clear the runway of snow, etc.
But as far as the mechanics of the plane, it will be unaffected by the cold.

Good question. Usually cold air makes for less turbulence as cold air is denser. Like us the molecules will pack together and with less heat there is less energy. The only down side is jet streams are stronger and futher south in winter. Once you are in one you wont notice it, entering one will be bumpy as air moving st different speeds close together will cause the air to be a little rough.
