Everybody knows my feeling on the L-1011. One of my best friends flies one all the time. I love it! I imagine it's only a matter of time though until they get rid of all of them. It's always sad to see an ond bird go by the wayside. I've always felt the same way about the 727. It too was an awesome plane that has not become far to rare.

Kelley, I think we need to get you in one again as one of the many humps for you to overcome on your way to complete FoF recovery. It's a good plane, and a safe one. Remember, your experience was not the L-10's fault, especially if it was Wx related.

Take care all.

I am sure you do... and I hope everyone does...

But you DO know what December 7th is really famous for don't you???

Geez, I really hope so, and that you are joking around.

When I met Captain Jeff at the hotel, they were having a Pearl Harbor Survivors Convention. They had a huge model of the Arizona out front. So big it was on a trailer towed by a truck.

Jeff, and I greeted several of the members there. I had the opportunity to thank them for their service. In fact one of the members is who took the photo of Jeff and I.

In retrospect, I could care less about anything else that has happened on December 7th.

Sorry, it is the way I feel.

Yes, Scott, I know the L-1011 is a great airplane. It got me on the ground, after all.

My Grandparents were in Pearl Harbour on Dec 7th. My Grandmother says she remembers the utter chaos like it was yesterday. The stories she tells of that day are chilling. I pray nothing like that ever happens again.

I think you've stumbled onto something here, Kelley.

When a new airplane is built, the airline industry says, "I hope we can get this off the ground." But passengers say, "I hope they can get this back on the ground once it's up."

My wife and I went to Pearl Harbor memorial last year. Very humbling experience. I bought a flag that was flown over the ship on 9/11. It's neat how people from all over the world bring huge flower wreaths every day. They place them in front of the huge wall of names. I wonder how it looks today.

That was the last time I have flown. The best experience ever. The security screener at the airport was a great guy. We were chatting it up as he tested our luggage for bombs with the swab things. Nicest guy.. all smiles but very thorough with his job. I told him where I was going and how I was looking forward to paying respect at Pearl Harbor. He stopped going through our luggage and looked at me with a serious face. Then he said "Hey man, will you say a prayer from me when you get there?". I did.

As you all know, when you are flying somewhere like Hawaii, the people on board are in a better mood than other flights. It makes for a better flight.

I was staring down at the ocean. I saw a huge shadow under the water. It looked like a submarine and it was moving fast. I still wonder what that was.. a whale?

I was also surprised while I was looking down when I saw a huge jet below us. It looked really close. We were above it for a few minutes. Now being a fan of racing, I found myself wanting to pass it! We won!

Could it had been your own shadow... the shadow from your plane??? I know I saw that going over to England.

Not sure. It was moving in the opposite direction. I am sure it was something simple lik ethat, but it was submarine shaped and looked to be pretty deep. Weird..
