My family and I are off to Denver for a family reunion on WED. We are flying out of GREEN/Providence(Warwick)RI....(btw: I love this airport) and we have never flown SWA. :)
Any tips for a first timer on SWA?? ;)
AND for the record: this site was just so amazing as I prepared for my trip to Europe over Christmas that I am having absolutely NO ISSUES whatsoever with FoF right now because of all that I learned last Fall and Winter as I prepared for my trip. SWA start your engines......:D
ETA: We connect into Midway going to Denver and connect into Nashville on our return!

...Any tips for a first timer on SWA?? ;) ...Make sure you check-in ASAP after your 24-hr. check-in window opens so you have a high probability of getting an "A" ticket. Don't worry if you can't print out your boarding passes then, for you can print them out when you get to the airport.

SWA is by far the biggest airline flying out of PVD so their lines are longer...I would leave more time (for check-in and security) than you normally would if you were flying someone else.

PVD is the corporate heaquarters for Dunkin Donuts. The store in the SWA wing has THE BEST BAGELS and coffee going. Grab a couple for mid flight snacks. Just past Dunkin's is a breakfast place that has great egg-potatos-toast kind of breakie food. Get there early and eat!
:ray:(Mmmmmm Coffee Rolls:glahhhhhh:) )

Thanks everyone for all the tips!! AND for a 5:05pm flight I was planning on arriving at 3:30pm...maybe I will make that an even 3pm!!!
They have that "parking for peanuts Garage C", so we will try to park in there for the week that we are gone...= $56.00 for garage parking for one week!!
Yikes, I was unaware of the "no" entertainment inflight. I just flew AA to Heathrow (Dec) and I have flown Jet Blue many times and love the tv in the seats...hmmm...well to any of you who are unaware Capt Stacey Chance has a fabulous book on dvd.."Wings of Discovery"...I, as I head to Denver, will be listening to my dvd. After-all, it got me to London, a 6 hours flight over the ocean!!! GREAT GREAT book of dvd!!! :happyguy:

Ahhh...MARK, the trip (when talking about flying) was fabulous!! SWA out of PVD to Chicago and on to Denver was right on time. The only issue I had was the amount of turbulence from Chicago to Denver. The pilot apologized over and over again but the weather was an issue with thunderstorms. We literally SHOOK for about 60 minutes. I had taken my bonine and had my sea bands on and my ear planes in my ears so NO problems. But the shaking is scary. I just kept listening to my WINGS of DISCOVERY cd and I was fine. I am telling ALL OF YOU, that cd certainly keeps my focus!!! The pilot would not even let the Stewardesses out of their seats. They were buckled in the whole time. :(
On our return, we went Denver to Nashville to PVD and we had a picture perfect flying day and arrived early to both airports!
We had Boarding Pass A for all the airports and we had great seats!! :D
This was my first time flying SWA and was new to the Boarding Pass line ups but it was fine...esp considering I paid $142.00pp for the flight!! :D
To those going to PVD at all, we parked in the "PARK FOR PEANUTS" garage!! One week = $56.00 and it is INSIDE!!!
But as I mentioned the flying was awesome but while in Colorado my DS' DGF was thrown from a horse and the horse then stepped on her hand and CRUSHED it. She was in the CO hospital and upon return to Boston went to Mass General Hospital for hand surgery. :shakehead She will not have complete use of her hand for up to a YEAR! :shakehead She is now home staying with us in Central Mass. We are very very thankful that through this entire accident it was ONLY her hand and nothing more serious. :shakehead
Here are some views of the Rocky Mountains and Pike's Peak!!
