So, I flew from Orlando to Boston and back again.

I was a little freaked out prior to take-off each time, more so on the first departure-but thanks to a supportive girlfriend, Taking Flight and many hours of reading......I did it!

I flew JetBlue and was thoroughly impressed! The tv's make for a great "focal point" and the service was great.

I can't say that my fear is totally gone, but it sure seems to be greatly reduced and wow, what a great burden to be rid of! I've planned 2 more flights in the next couple of months and am thoroughly excited.

My advice to anyone fearful of flying would be to identify the fear and deal with anticipatory anxiety -a big one for me-, investigate the aerodynamic aspect of airplances and the take confidence in the safety in the numbers/statistics.

A trip report?

I'll be flying to from Orlando to Minneapolis to Spokane and then driving from Spokane into Montana.

Hmmm, and then in September Orlando to Boston and hopefully I'll get in a trip to Manchester, NH possibly in August.

Off the topic question, but do all airlines now have "reinforced" cockpit doors? On my flight with Jetblue they made the announcement that it was in fact "reinforced". Just curious if that was the same throughout all or most airlines

Adding to Ray's post...The only planes I have been on that did not have reinforced doors are planes that probably coudn't even blow up an apartment if crashed into it. Even the 30 seat Saabs (prop planes) have had them. But the Beech 1900 does not.
