I'm back from Washington D.C. and I flew both ways :hyped: ! I'll post the details, and some pictures, soon.
Thanks to all of you who helped! I really couldn't have done it without you!

My pictures were too large to upload into the photo page here, so I made an album on Photo Bucket:

It's kind of backwards from the way my trip went, because the photos display in reverse order of the upload. I'll go back and fix it sooner or later.
They're not the greatest photos, but they prove that I flew! Yippee!

Hey, Eloise, Thanks for sharing your photos! That's great that the pilots would pose for, and with you too. I hope you will print out that picture of you, your son, and the pilot, and post it on your refrigerator door where you will see it every day, and think about how YOU FLEW!! :hyped: :hyped:

Yes, getting them posted directly onto a thread here as attachments requires an additional step of reducing their size to 97 KB or less. You can do that in a photo editing program. If you post to the gallery and then link to the thread, you have a size limit of about 1MB. I believe there's also a way to get the Photobucket photos to show up on your post...I think P.Mark knows how to do that.

Nice pictures Eloise! I enjoyed those very much. I can't convice my husband to take pictures while he is inflight although he wants me to do it constantly while we are flying (I think it's his way of keeping me busy and out of my panic-mode).

Great picture flying up the Potomac. I asked my husband did that look familiar and he said yes. :)

So happy you had good flights! :D

I had heard about the view when landing in D.C., so I knew we weren't really headed for the water  !
I find that I seem to switch between panic mode and fascination while I'm up there. Taking pictures helps. I'm glad you enjoyed them!

Although I'm still apprehensive, I actually am looking forward to doing it again. I think I'm just one of those hypersensitive folks who pays attention to every movement the plane makes, and I think if I fly more often, I can get over that.
I am so grateful to have found this web site, and all the wonderful, supportive people on it. Although I have some books (as soon as I got back from my trip, Capt. Ray's book was there waiting for me  ) nothing beats having real people to encourage you through the anxiety. Now that I've flown, I hope I can help someone else too.
Thanks, everyone!

How did you go about meeting the pilot? Were they surprised at all by the request? I am sure that would set my mind at ease but I am so shy I don't know if I will.
