Well here we are in sunny England in April with temps of around 72 degrees. Spent the last couple of hours sat in the garden with a book and ice cream!!!

I am not complaining at all!:)

You got our weather! And I want it back!

The last two weeks in March were fantastic! Highs in the 70s and 80s, lows in the 60s. I even opened the pool, put out my palm trees, and Boston Ferns. Everything started coming to life, trees were budding, birds were singing, finally winter was over!

But wait!

Last Wednesday night we had a huge storm come through, and the next day it was 50, then 40, then 30, and on Saturday night it was 19 degrees F not C! Luckily I moved the palms and everything else I could in the garage, but it killed everything else! All the new growth is now black.

Today the high is 50... and raining. Lynda... I demand my sun back now!

It was funny... but now this weather is no joke.

Tornado watches and WARNINGS across the south yesterday.

Today here this morning... SNOW! It is not sticking, but there it is.

Also today the East Cost is on alert for wicked weather.

Hope everyone is staying SMART and safe!

Deb,

They sound delicious, no-one hardly bakes cakes or anything here anymore. I have not made a cake or biscuit ( cookie ) for years.

I am sorry you are all getting the bad weather over there, stay warm and safe.

Oh Lynda... it's not your fault. But in case it is... STOP IT! :D

Hey... at least someone I like is getting good weather!

Deb... From the news here it sounds really bad in the northeast. You guys really stay in. I will be up for my brownies when this all clears!

We're having a partly sunny, breezy day in So.CA with temps in the low 60's. It's hard to believe the weather y'all are having in the Northeast...staying in and baking brownies sounds very comforting, and much better than trying to go anywhere!! Stay safe!

From www.weather.com (http://www.weather.com):
"A powerful storm is hammering the Northeast this afternoon with strong winds, excessive rainfall and coastal flooding.

The heaviest downpours, as much as five or six inches by tomorrow morning, will inundate locations in and around New York City. Urban and street flooding will be significant, and travel disruptions, massive. The cloudbursts, however, should begin to relent this evening.

Coastal flooding will become serious, too, perhaps rivaling--at least in the western end of Long Island Sound--that produced by the December 1992 nor'easter. Storm tides up to 4.5 feet above normal are possible. Farther east in the sound, tides up to 2.5 feet above normal are likely.
Winds over the sound and over adjacent coastal locations are expected to average around 35 mph with gusts to 55 mph into this evening before beginning to slacken.

High winds and coastal flooding will batter areas farther north, too. Tides of 2 to 4 feet above normal (locally 5 feet) are expected to surge into eastern Massachusetts and southern Maine. Winds will peak early tomorrow in those areas with coastal Maine likely to be buffeted by the highest gusts, probably near 80 mph.

In interior locations, heavy wet snowfall will become an increasing problem tonight, especially over Upstate New York where one to two feet of wind-driven glop may lead to downed trees and limbs resulting in power outages.

Farther south, the threat of isolated tornadoes will hover over southeastern Virginia, portions of the Carolinas and southern Florida into early this evening."

 Dang...that is some weather!

My mom, who lives in North central Pennsylvania, where they were supposed to get some sort of storm of the century, said they got next to nothing. And the "next to" part is only because when she picked up her paper this morning, it was wet. No snow or anything. :dunno:

Very hot here! We spent the day at the beach yesterday and I also got a sunburn. That's NOT normal on April 15 but I like it.:sunshine:

Dear Lynda and Agne,

Thank you for not selfishly stealing all of our sunshine. It is beautiful in Chicago today and back to a normal April temperature. Keep it coming...until April 25th or so, because then I'll be in Hawaii and want to be able to gloat about the nice weather.

Regards,
Erika

We are getting hammered by rain. I was just called to go to one of the suburbs close by to do counseling at a shelter for folks who had to be evacuated. That's pretty rare around here. I'm betting it will be short term but I'm sure it's still scary. They are also closing some schools. Again, pretty unusual for them to do because of rain.
My youngest daughter and her friends are trying to mind control the superintendent into closing their school.

Hey, Monica...How is it going there? Were you up all night counseling evacuated people? Hope you are all doing O.K. and staying safe, and that your daughter and friends were successful with their "experiment"! :D

I am certainly jealous! With the 4 inches of rain we got yesterday, I had 8 inches of water in my basement this morning - and no heat or hot water because the water tripped the boiler's circuit! The weirdest part is that my basement was dry as of midnight when I went to bed, but apparently filled in in 8 hours

Both sump pumps failed. Water is now gone and the boiler had no damage. Luckily, the only things ruined were some empty boxes!

Great way to start the week!

You can expect it on Tuesday, Lynda. Unless it has to swim the Atlantic; according to Google's directions, that takes about 29 days.
