Thank you for the warm welcome :-)
I booked my flight last night and after the shakes for about an hour, all is well today. This will be my first flight since I was a little girl and I don't remember that flight. Now I'm 43 and scared to death to fly. I think the main issue with me is control and closed spaces. I just don't want to freak out after they close the door. I chose I very short flight just to introduce myself to the plane, later on I'll work on one to VA :-) Any help in this area would be appreicated. Thank you.

TJ, a short flight is probably the best way to start to get used to flying...but it will be filled with all the sensations of takeoff, climb, descent and landing without much steady-state at cruise...so, after this first flight (which we all hope will be a big success :flowers ), you might want to book another, longer one ASAP.
If you experience claustrophobia, do you have discomfort in elevators? If so, and if there are any tall buildings with elevators nearby, you might consider going there and riding the beast for practice.
Meeting your pilots will really help with the control issue; it puts a trustworthy face on the people who have control. You might also visit your local airport and just hang out wherever you can and get used to the normalcy of it all, and if you feel bold, talk to some pilots. These things will all help.
Check out our Resources section for links to info on anxiety management, too.
Congratulations on the big step. One step at a time is the way to make progress. :thumbsup
