......and I might honestly vomit.

Mike wanted to do it last weekend but I just couldn't. I finally got the guts to go online and book them. The whole time I was typing in the info, Mike was rubbing my neck. He knew I was nervous and it was sweet. Of course my stress was so high I wanted to rip off his head and spit down his neck......

I don't want to do this. The the inbound is 4hrs 47 minutes and the outbound is 4 hrs 16 minutes. We are on a 737 800 and it is Continental. Inbound row is 16 and outbound is 26. Of course I am concentrating on being so far in the back on the way home and I fear the turbulence.

It is almost worth forfeiting the $1350 to avoid this.

I don't want to go. When (if) we land in LAX, I'm gonna tear out of the airport and scream for joy.

I feel like Christmas is ruined now. I also feel it will be my last one.

After each flight, I swear it will be my last one. Then what do I do? I freaking go and book another one.

Canoooooga, you'll be fine. Remember the bad weather you want to get away from?

You'll have great seats. I think the biggest challenge will be the length...but then again, you have flown to ASIA, so this will be shorter. You'll just have to bring lots of goodies...

I KNOW you are going to get there in one piece. you may not, but I do.

Tell us when exactly you are going again so we can plan...I'm flying 12-21 and have decided not to panic until 12-20 at the earliest. I have a final exam the night before we go, which should help.

Think of other things! It doesn't make it any safer having worried for weeks ahead of time.

You lose my number or something???

By the way....

Take 10 roma tomatoes and cut off the little endy part where they were attached to the vine. Don't cut too much off, but just the end (an eighth of an inch will do).

Slice them down the middle length wise. Sprinkle a little sea or kosher salt on them, and some granulated garlic. Now cover with mozzerella cheese. Sprinkle oregano and basil to taste, and bake or broil until the cheese is brown.

Makes a great low carb appetizer.

Huey, That sounds great. I love those kinds of foods. Now if only I could cook. I'm going to give it a try. With my 13 year olds help,of course.
Beth, Spiff's advice is great. Break this up a bit here. Make that 'appointment" to deal with your anxiety. I think 1-2 days before is plenty. Keep putting it out of your head before then.Yell at yourself and remind yourself of your agreement. As it gets closer, come on here, call Huey, start rounding up your supports. If you need specific relaxation techniques e-mail i'll be happy to help you with it. You know we'll get you through this. :pompoms Monica

Have you bought Ray's book yet? You need to get it and "LIVE" in it for a couple weeks. It will honestly help. Remember, your fear and reality are very far apart--totally separate entities. Feelings may be intense and strong, but they do not alter reality.

Hugs to you, admired Mama!!!!

Congrats on booking the flight.

I know exactly how you feel. I am constantly fighting between the "this will be my last flight" side of me and the "can't wait to get over this and see the world" side of me.

Remember to relax and enjoy LA. As a California native, I would have to say that Northern half is much better (sorry Mark;) ) but I am sure you can find something redeeming about LA (my wife is from there so it's not all bad) :sunshine .

Besides, any thing bad that is going to happen on a flight will be the flight that I AM ON...so you are completely safe.

"He knew I was nervous and it was sweet. Of course my stress was so high I wanted to rip off his head and spit down his neck...."

(I wish we had an icon depicting that).

I'm so sorry, but that made me giggle. :hug I know exactly how you feel; my poor boyfriend USED to be quick to comfort me when I was upset about anything, but after the first few times I nearly did rip off his head, now he's like, eh, take care of yourself. :huff

Congratulations on booking the flight, though. I know it's hard right now, but you have the tools, so use them! :pompoms

Try to find some things to do between now and your trip to keep your mind occupied -- not to forget about the flight, just to give you something else to think about besides always worrying about the flight (which you KNOW will be safe). Take those gorgeous girls of yours out to see a movie, or better yet, get a babysitter and take your hubby on a date! :tango

And post here, of course! You know we'll all be here for you!

Erika

P.S. Chris, haven't you heard? I'm the one destined for the doomed flight, so I'm sorry, but it can't be you.

Isn't it funny how we fight over who *gets* to be on the doomed flight? :scratch

Beth

Congratulations! I think it's great to have to cheer you on and through this!:pompoms

So, lessee -- cold to warm, huh?:nod A built-in vacation, right?:nod

Can you just imagine how LA is all decked out for Christmas??:nod

Not having to do anything for 4+ hours on the plane?:nod

Sorry, but this all sounds like GOOD stuff to me!

Next Christmas, you'll be screaming to go!

Don't worry 'bout those of us left shivering in the Northeast. We;ll be fine:sigh

And, of course, you know we're all here for you, right? Lucky you -- undivided attention! Get into your Selfish Mode now. That's my favorite part of flying. It's ALL about ME-ME-ME!!!
