Flying from Chicago to Miami tomorrow

I absolutely love this site! I am flying to Miami with my family for spring break tomorrow - it's my first time on a plane in over 3 years. We were supposed to go to Vegas awhile back, but I just didn't feel ready to fly. I just want to say thanks to all of the great people on here, it's such a supportive place, and Captain Ray is so great. We are on flight 1940 on American Airlines leaving out of O'Hare. Any last-minute words of encouragement or advice would be appreciated!!

I live in Chicago too, and I will tell you this -- the view of the city from the air is spectacular!

You sound like you've been reading up (and you're right, this site IS great; it's helped me quite a bit), and without knowing specifics about your fear, my best advice to you is, if you get nervous, just close your eyes, take a deep breath and try to relax. You're going on spring break, and you're going to have a great time!

I had some medical issues - I had a cardiac ablation (for an irregular heart rate) in 2005. This will be my first flight since having my heart fixed. I just wish I was flying on one of Captain Ray's flights!!!
