I thought my intestinal issues would be magically solved when I had my gallbladder removed in January but alas they have gradually gotten worse again so my OB referred me to a Gastroenterologist (who I swear looked 19).
Doogie Howser put me on Prevacid. Anyone else take it or anything like it for reflux? What has been your experience with it - in other words does it work?? I was doubling Zantac 150 and it wasn't phasing my symptoms. I am really hoping this does the trick!
I officially now take more daily prescription medications (and see more specialists) than my 82 year old parents combined.

:( Unfortunately, many Rx and non-Rx medications can cause acid reflux. It is worth any and all effort to research your meds and try to get off some of them if at all possible. I realize it is not always possible, it's just that the effects and interactions can be puzzling and create the need for yet more medications, making the problem worse.

I will speak to my doctor about it but I doubt there are any I can not take - they are for my clotting disorder, hypothyroidism, allergies, migraines, etc... but once the baby comes I hope to be able to cut the Zofran out!
Ken - have you tried Nexium? Which works better - Prevacid or Nexium?

The generic for Nexium should be out later this year - or so the rumor is from my Pharmacist friends. After that happens the insurance companies will most likely approve the scripts for generic Nexium once again.
They just came out with a generic for Zofran last month - thank goodness. The retail price went from $1800 to $800 per week when that happened! :happyguy:
