Thanks everyone, Spiffy and Bonnie for the cards.
The wake is tomorrow night and the memorial service is on tuesday, this has been the longest week of my life.
My dog is broken, he hurt himself on wednesday playing on wet grass outside, I had to bring him to the emergency vet last night and this morning and he is getting x-rays tonight, my car is making funny noises....will it ever end?????

Jess, of course it will. Eventually. It just doesn't SEEM like it will.
When I would be on call as a resident, HATING it, no dinner, everyone crashing, no one around to help me, etc, I would always despair at about 11 PM, thinking the night would never end. (The fact that I had been on call before and the night always ended failed to make an impression on me.) It helped me a little to remember that seconds, and minutes, etc, go by at the same rate whether I am on call or not. They just seemed to take longer when I was unhappy.
Kind of like flying...(not to trivialize what you are going through by comparing it to a flight)...all you have to do is get through the next second, minute, hour right now and eventually (but it will not feel like soon enough) you will feel stronger.
We are all thinking of you, too, if that helps.
For what it's worth, I bet your pooch will be okay...

My thoughts and prayers are with you, Jess.

Jess
Each and every day is bringing you closer to healing. Nothing you will ever go through is going to compare with this.
I know you feel that you're totally alone - you're not, Jess. You're being carried along by people who love you and care about you. We can't feel your pain for you, but we can feel our own pain for you.
Hang on, Jess.
Debbie
