I know this is off topic, but I need to vent. My daughter went to make candy canes with her Girl Scout troop tonight. I went to pick her up at the school they meet at. They were late. After waiting 10 minutes past the time they were supposed to be back, I called my wife. I asked her to call the troop leader and ask her what the hold-up was. We had dinner reservations.. She called me back and said 10 more minutes.... I waited 20 and saw red.

It pisses me off that I got so angry at the leader who gives her time freely for our girls. Anyways, I decided to go around the corner and check out a buddies house. He has moved to join the national catastrophe team in Texas. I wanted to see what the house looked like now. I, in an angry impatient moment, accelerated forward. I forgot the parking lot had those parking stones....whatever they're called... I nailed it with the front wheel and then had no choice but to finish it off.. Then I went home and told my wife what an impatient @#%$ I was. I asked her to go pick my girl up....When she got home, she told me the people in the lot wanted to know what was up with the crazy guy that sped out of the school parking lot.

I felt like a real jerk.. we went to teppenyaki and I feel better... These kind of things happen to everyone and we all deal with them in different ways. My daughters mentors think her dad is a jerk. Luckily they didnt involve her in the conversation with my wife.

I hate doing stupid things.

Thanks for letting me vent..

Jeff

THAT WAS YOU????

I wondered who that was!

ha ha

Don't worry about it Jeff. Sounds like you learned and recognized. And that is all that matters.

Been there, done that!

I wonder how many of us who deal with fear and anxiety have this problem as well? I know that I have been in those situations before and I always assumed that it was part of the whole "screwed up" psychological package of not always being able to be rationally reasonable. Sometimes the silliest little inconveniences can really set me off

Awww Jeff, take it easy on yourself. The fact that you care that you got so impatient shows that you care. We can't be perfect parents. Or perfect people. (Although, I would like my pilot to be).
I figure with 4 kids I screw up at least 10 times a day with each of them. So, I average 40 screw-ups a day.Use an impatient tone of voice, channel my mother's voice, don't listen carefully enough because I'm preoccupied, etc. But nothing in my world is more important then them and I let them know that 10 times a day. You're a good guy that loves his family. Cut yourself a break and look at the big picture.
And even though I'm being nice to you you can't have my bar-tending job at Ken's Russian wedding.
Chris,Interesting point. I think people that are fast moving tend to get set off easily. Anxious or not. Also makes sense to me though that people with anxiety would get rattled more easily. I like that phrase---rationally reasonable...

Jeff --

Looks like you're safe. You got the "word" from a professional that you're okay.

Can I join your stupid club? Guess what I just did? I was sorting Christmas gifts under the tree and thought, "What'd I do with Jonathan's fleece?" Hunted and hunted. Then I saw a box that was the right size, and thought I may have just put the wrong name on it. I gently started to ease the wrapping open, just a corner, mind you so I could check the box. But the paper ripped, the tape got stuck to itself, and next thing you know, I'm tearing at the box like a vulture on a squirrel! So, now, Jeff, I've got this paper cut (but from a BOX) under my fingernail. Under, Jeff. Can you feel the pain of a paper cut UNDER the nail???

At least you had humans where you had directed your anger. I got ticked off at a box!:wired

Yes, Monica, we're all human.

A P.S. to the above....... guess what I just did?

That same finger with the nice, fresh slice under the nail??

I just slammed said same finger in a drawer:jawdrop

Pain -- I'm in a lot of pain:wired
