It has been a while since I have been on here. I read this site religiously everyday before I flew from DTW to Seattle to go on an Alaskan Cruise. Those flights were uneventful and I kept my anxiety to a minimum remembering all that is said on these boards, and reading Captain Ray's book. (a little ativan helped too)
Feb 3rd flying from DTW to Cancun on USA 3000. Airbus is the plane. Please remind me again why it will all be ok and that I have nothing to worry about but worry itself!! I am starting to get the anxiety back just thinking about next week.

Hi, Karen ... you're doing the right things. Focus on the experiences you'll have at your destination. Speaking of which, the most important thing you're doing is having the travel experiences that you want. (I assume you're not going to Cancun on boring business!:D )
Whichever parts of Captain Ray's book were the most helpful to you, read those again. If you are the sort of person who is "okay" once you get ON the plane, picture yourself doing that when the anticipatory anxiety strikes.
Check out some photos of your plane ... is it JetPhotos.com? Something like that. I always think Airbus jets look like muscle planes. They're going to get you there and back just fine. Try tracking your flight over the next week on FlightAware or another tracker.
And check back in here!

I agree with Rebecca, it's great to look at photos of your plane ahead of time. The website I like to use is www.jetphotos.net (http://www.jetphotos.net) . I found a photo of the USA 3000 Airbus 320 at DTW, linked here: http://www.jetphotos.net/viewphoto.php?id=388277
You can see many other photos of the Airbus 320 at that website...check out some interior ones, and remind yourself of what it will feel like sitting in your seat, waiting for take-off, feeling calm and relaxed, looking forward to vacation, etc. :)
