View Full Version : Has anyone ever had a pinched nerve?

So I don't know what I have going on here, but Matt seems to think it is a pinched nerve. I woke up in the middle of the night with this weird pain going from my left shoulder all the way down my left leg, and it felt like there was a rubber band in my body that someone was stretching as far as it would go. It only lasted 10 seconds or so, but it was totally strange -- it wasn't like a muscle pain or an organ or something.

I've been getting this weird pain for awhile, but only in my abdomen, always on the left side. There are no other symptoms with it, and it only lasts a few seconds, and most of the time it's not that bad. From what I've read on pinched nerves, the pain is worse than what I've experienced, and it's more in the back and shoulders or legs than in the abdomen. But I can't think what else it could be.

You guys are smart. Any ideas?

I've had a pinched nerve in my neck that caused amazingly severe pain. But it affected only my neck, arm, and hand. I've also had muscle cramps in my lower back that have caused pain down one leg. The abdomen pain you describe isn't something I'm familiar with but I never fail to be amazed in learning just how our various physical parts are connected, so who knows?

Actually, it might not be a bad idea to check with a doctor (or maybe you have access to a 24-hour nurse hotline?) and ask about the abdomenal pain. It's probably nothing - heck, it could just be gas - but that's an area with some potential for stuff you dont' want to ignore...

I highly doubt it's gas -- I've had gas before, and that's a little deeper than this pain is. It's like just below the surface of my skin. But anyway...I started getting it really bad in my back the other day, so I just laid low for a few days and didn't go to the gym, and now I feel normal again. So maybe it was a pulled muscle after all; I have been working out more lately than I have been in the past.
