Ok, I am flying again in about 48 hours. I woke up this morning with my first real anxiety over it but I am trying to remain focused on reality. I have been doing better than normal with the AntAnx but am starting to obsess and see the headlines for the Christmas Day Disaster of 2004.
Any words of encouragement would be welcome!

Chris,
Concentrate on the trip and the fun things you will do AFTER you get off the plane. Track your flight today and tomorrow to remind yourself how routine this exact flight is.
You can do it! :)

I agree--track your flight tomorrow. Visualize yourself on it, arriving safely. Saturday will be a repeat safe arrival. Madame Terpsichore :peace says her crystal ball shows no airline disasters.
I trust you have some anti-anxiety strategies in action now. I hope so; they really help. Practice makes them more effective.
Keep the faith! You are doing fine! :thumbsup

Ok, this is wierd (or maybe routine) but I was trying to track my upcoming floght and the number doesn't exist anymore. SWA flight 1976 landed in Birmingham last night, which is the end of its normal run but is not flying today or tomorrow. The flight number instead is 3976 and is a 737-500 instead of a 737-300. Is this a normal occurence or could there be something worng with the original plane? My wheels are starting to spin a little so if anyone has heard of this...

Chris, I've run up against similiar things while tracking. Doesn't mean anything of importance. Really.
It's time to go back to basics and start thinking about all the techniques you know now. Print out posts that you find reassuring,I like the suggestion about picturing yourself walking off the plane feeling good about having done this. If you have specific concerns pick Ray's brain on the other part of the board.
I've been getting those tinges too but these techniques have really been helping so far. Picture yourself writing a trip report about how good your flight was. :thumbsup

Hey Chris,
It does not mean a thing... Promise! Airlines do this all the time, and it is no big deal. And sometimes the trackers get it wrong. You may want to try several trackers to make sure.
The other day I was tracking Kel's flight, and it said her flight did not exist! So I went to another, and "Bingo" there it was!
Try and think about the goal, the reason for the flight. And when the "What ifs" pop up, answer them with the facts!
Like Joe Friday said... "Nothing but the facts..."
I did it today... You can do it in 48!
You have what it takes to fly!
Take Flight!
Mark
