Anyone here among the thousands affected?

Thank goodness I wasnt but I do have to say that if I HAD to be stuck in an airport overnite my first choice would be terminal C in CVG (where all the ComAir flights are). Second choice would be terminal B in CVG.
Hope everyone and their luggage gets home soon!

Just got a newsflash from a friend here at SWA--
Comair has shut down for the rest of 2004. They have instructed all pilots to remain home but near the phone until further notice. If you have Comair tickets, I'd call the airline right away.

does that mean Delta has shut down too or just Comair? Isn't Comair a subsidiary of Delta?
Man, that is craaaaaazy!!!!!!!
I wish SWA flew to ATL.......

WOW! That is nuts. I fly ComAir ALL the time and love them. Luckily my tickets for all 4 flights this week are on Delta.
I'm not sure exactly what the relationship is between ComAir and Delta but I do know they are a "Delta Connection Carrier".
Michael? You out there with an answer?

Does anyone else find it fishy that all these USAir (I think?) employees "called in sick" on the same day - like it was an unofficial strike or something?

Jeff, just had to correct a little thing -- it was US Airways, not United, that had the luggage problem. (Poor ol' United gets beat up on enough, I felt like I had to correct that.)
I can't find anything about Comair shutting down for the rest of the year. According to the Delta website, they still plan to be back to their normal schedule by Wednesday?

Spiffy, yeah. I guess the union denied that it was an official action, but still ...
Looks like an investigation is pending:

The media is reporting that Comair will now be up and running starting tomorrow. I just saw a Comair jet moving in Baltimore. The message I relayed above was reportedly from the Comair Pilots union head issued on Christmas day.
Hopefully the company is getting problems ironed out. We'll see as they reported they'd be up and running previously and it didn't happen. Hopefully, this time it will.
As I said, if you have any Comair flights scheduled through the end of the year, better call them to confirm.
