View Full Version : This or That Game to keep the board hopping!
WillFlyToDisney2
11-24-2004, 11:03 PM
Some of the fans on the Shiloh board started this thread - it is a fun quick game. Mark thought it would be fun here too.
Here is how it goes...you say two things...the next person picks one of those things then lists 2 more choices.
Let me start:
Coke or Pepsi?
Passenger Mark
11-24-2004, 11:08 PM
Hey Kel! Thanks for starting it up!!!
Coke!!!!
Pepsi just taste wierd! :blech
Rock n Roll or Country??? :band
WillFlyToDisney2
11-24-2004, 11:22 PM

Hot Dogs or Hamburgers?
JPenny
11-24-2004, 11:38 PM

Low fat or low carbs?
Jean
Passenger Mark
11-25-2004, 12:16 AM
I have to agree Hamburgers!!!
And speaking of Hamburgers...
Low Fat
I need my carbs!
Rain or Snow???
noflyingfan
11-25-2004, 01:04 AM
I actually love both rain and snow. I'd take either one. But since I don't get to see it too often now, snow.
:hamster or :troll

Exercise or
NAP
xiknal
11-25-2004, 01:47 AM
I know that exercise is good for me, but...since I never quite get enough sleep as it is and fly a lot, I'll take...zzzz...a :yawn ...naaap...

Jeff California
11-25-2004, 01:51 AM

Baseball or football?
:beep
LesliePHX
11-25-2004, 04:22 AM
Baseball. Window seat or aisle?
xiknal

Turkey or Stuffing???
LesliePHX
11-25-2004, 05:15 AM
No fair! Turkey or stuffing is like Sophie's Choice, how can you decide?
OK, stuffing.
Burger King or McDonald's?
StPeteMark
11-25-2004, 09:52 AM
I hope nobody has to make that choice today...yuck! :blech
If so....
"Eat In or Take Out?" :dragonslayer
noflyingfan
11-25-2004, 03:39 PM
For the record, Leslie, I'd take stuffing any day.
Eat in, usually.
This board or the other board? Just kidding.
Get on a plane knowing for sure the flight would be turbulent and scary, or decide not to fly that day and beat yourself up for it later?
Passenger Mark
11-25-2004, 06:17 PM
No question... Get on!
Been there, done that, from ONT to SLC... Captain said it WAS going to be bumpy. Glad I did it, and as I was prepared... it was not that bad.
Conventional oven.... Or microwave!
noflyingfan
11-25-2004, 10:59 PM
Conventional oven. Microwave takes too long.
Meet a long lost love after many years and find out that person has become a horrible person you'd never want to associate with, or search for years to no avail and keep the illusion forever that the long lost love is the perfect person for you?
WillFlyToDisney2
11-26-2004, 02:28 AM
Leave it to Erika to come up with the thought provoking answers! LOL
I would go for meeting the lost love and realizing he is a horrible person - an ex is an ex for a REASON! Time tends to make us forget the bad and remember only the good times.
Now for a no-brainer question.
Sweet or Unsweet Tea
LesliePHX
11-26-2004, 02:38 AM
Sweet, except for that weird sweet tea they have in Georgia.
Assigned seating or unassigned?
xiknal
11-26-2004, 03:30 AM
ah, assigned, so long as they assign me exactly what I want...
...and Erika, re that long lost love, I eventually found out he was a jerk I could never live with and yet I still pine over the illusion...:loco
corporate world or self-employed?
LesliePHX
11-26-2004, 04:11 AM
Corporate world.
Buy-American or Buy-Best?
Disney fan
11-26-2004, 06:21 AM

Married or single by choice.
WillFlyToDisney2
11-26-2004, 07:55 AM
Single by choice!
Roses or Carnations?
Jeff California
11-26-2004, 08:20 AM
carnations smell great.
Vegas or New York
LesliePHX
11-26-2004, 08:52 AM
That's hard. Vegas has NYNY, so I will go with that.
Red states or blue states? (not trying to get political, just out of ideas)
Passenger Mark
11-26-2004, 10:01 AM
I would have to agree with Leslie... Vegas or NYC... tough choice... but I would have to go with Vegas. Something magical about that town, even if you don't gamble.
Since I am in the large blue State (according to the Atlas) I will have to say blue.
Here is one that is going to throw ya...
Boxers or briefs???? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v132/mark9091/Admin/boxers.gif
Debbielevis2
11-26-2004, 02:27 PM
Oh, Lord - what's going on??!!
Anyway, Tightie Whities have a certain appeal, though they're known to lower sperm counts. Boxers are just too cute - especially with bony knees!
Water skiing or snow skiing?
Deb
noflyingfan
11-26-2004, 02:37 PM
Water skiing. I tried snow skiing once and it was horrible. Plus Elvis did water skiing and looked super cool doing it.

24 hour stomache virus while having to fly or 24 hour stomache virus while having to attend to a 3 year old?
Guess how I spent my Thansgiving?:x
Passenger Mark
11-27-2004, 05:54 AM
Uh ken...
Is that our choice a stomach virus or a 3 year old???
I think I will choose 3 year old!
Paper or Plastic???
LesliePHX
11-27-2004, 06:08 AM
No, no, the choice was:
(1) having a stomach virus while flying
(2) having a stomach virus while attending a three-year-old
Paper. You can use it later.
LesliePHX
11-27-2004, 06:13 AM
Oops forgot to offer question. I guess I will re-offer Ken's question:
(1) having a stomach virus while flying
(2) having a stomach virus while attending a three-year-old
Passenger Mark
11-27-2004, 07:27 AM
Sorry, sometimes slow on the uptake!
Still would be the 3 year old! I had a friend that had food poisoning, and it showed up while she was on a flight from LA to Atlanta. Not pretty!
See the movie in the theater, or Wait till it comes out on DVD?
Disney fan
11-27-2004, 01:53 PM

WillFlyToDisney2
11-27-2004, 07:05 PM

this got overlooked, methinks...LONG hair, but clean and nicely coiffed for movie battle scenes...think of Achilles (as in Brad Pitt) or Aragorn, or Alexander the Great...:love
Mark, you'd better act fast to get your NASCAR plug in...I'm gonna do another skip-over to make the hopping more interesting and ask...
habaneros or jalapenos?
LesliePHX
11-28-2004, 02:36 AM
Gosh, has anybody here even had a habanero? I haven't, although once I had a habanero potato chip. YOWWWWW! Dem tangs is HOT! And it was just a POTATO CHIP version!
But that led me to actually buy a bag of the demonic things, and they were pretty good once you got used to them, and if you keep some bottles of water handy.
So I guess since I would like to try a little bit of real habanero, I'll pick that. I wonder what is the best way to eat them.
Diet or exercise?
xiknal
11-28-2004, 03:25 AM
I have actually watched people in Belize (a few) pop a whole habanero into their mouths and chew it and swallow. :shocked
This is more astonishing to me than any stunt David Copperfield has ever done. :shocked
But...dem tangs is also extremely tasty, apart from the hellfire :evil of their hotness. The best way I know of to enjoy habaneros is the traditional Belizean method of putting some fresh sliced ones (slice without touching skin) in a shaker bottle, say a Worcestershire Sauce bottle, add some slices of carrot and onion and top off with white vinegar. Let that steep a few days, and then just sprinkle the liquid as seasoning, and keep topping it off with vinegar. The wonderful flavor of the pepper comes through, and the heat is there in moderation.
We need some dancing pepper smileys! :dancers
hmmm...exercise!! (when I get around to it...)
French horn or saxophone?
MadScientist
11-28-2004, 04:03 AM
Saxaphone. The marching version of the French Horn sounds pretty good though. The actual French horn sounds a little cruddy unless you really know how to play one. (I played trombone for 15 years).
Scariest movie:
1) The original uncut vesion of the Exorcist.
2) "Your scariest movie here"
xiknal
11-28-2004, 04:24 AM

continuing in the creepy-crawly vein...
...which would you rather have invade your house?
(1) tarantulas
(2) army ants
:jawdrop
WillFlyToDisney2
11-28-2004, 04:35 AM
Ick. Neither but if I had to then Army Ants. Spiders give me the heebie jeebies! 0]

And Kel.. Champagne!
Analog or Digital ??? (Clocks)
beaugest
11-28-2004, 06:20 AM
Analog because my favorite clock is my analog Yankees clock.
which leads to
Yankees :pompoms

(where's Janet???)
LesliePHX
11-28-2004, 06:41 AM
Well, gosh, that's easy. Root for the winner, root for the underdog, etc.: Red Sox
Ghosts! Real or not real?
Jeff California
11-28-2004, 09:15 AM

80's music or current music?
spiffyone
11-28-2004, 02:20 PM

I'll go with the coast with the most...west!
Chocolate cake or apple pie?
:crazy
LesliePHX
11-29-2004, 05:56 AM
Apple pie has the advantage because of its options: hot, with ice cream, it beats any cake.
Kid behind you kicking your seat or baby crying two rows away?
canoga
11-29-2004, 03:12 PM
Babies crying because they are so cute and you want to cuddle them.

:handglide
Hangliding or Rock climbing?
spiffyone
11-29-2004, 10:20 PM
Rock climbing of course! Hang gliding is too much like flying.
I secretly wanted the yellow cake all along. I was afraid it wasn't "the thing" for weddings though. Now I will just say I polled a group of experts and THEY said...
So, let's see...
Kayaking or canoeing?
:hamster
noflyingfan
11-29-2004, 11:45 PM
Canoeing. I'd be afraid if I was kayaking that it would flip over and I wouldn't be able to get out.
Old Star Wars movies or new Star Wars movies?
WillFlyToDisney2
11-30-2004, 12:00 AM
Old Star Wars movies. I just don't like the new ones.
Yes, Spiffy, experts agree that YELLOW CAKE is best. (Save us a piece, huh?)
Arby's or Wendy's?
Passenger Mark
11-30-2004, 12:11 AM
Wendys...
At least I can find something close to healthy there!!
Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings???
Debbielevis2
11-30-2004, 12:19 AM
Mark
I agree with your Wendy's take. Salad bar and a baked 'tato can serve me well.
Hafta go with Harry Potter. If you've gotta live in Fantasy Land - lighter is better!
Hm-m-m
Getting tough now
Aisle or window???
sengelin
11-30-2004, 12:42 AM
Window, because if I have to be hurtling along at 500 mph in an aluminum tube 6 miles above the earth I might as well enjoy the view.
And, a choice that I faced in real life once...
A seat next to Smelly-B.O.-Guy :blech or a seat next to Puking-6-Year-Old :barf .
noflyingfan
11-30-2004, 01:20 AM
I'd take smelly B.O. guy, definitely. I could give him dirty looks. A puking kid I'd feel compelled to give sympathy and act like I'm not grossed out.
I have to say, though, I prefer white cake.
A first class seat on a rough, turbulent, everybody-is-puking flight, or a cramped coach seat between a puking kid and a B.O. guy on a smooth, uneventful flight?
Strange333
11-30-2004, 02:56 AM
I would take the first class seat anyday. Turb. is great...just like being on a roller coaster. I am speaking from experience. On a flight from CDG to Detroit a few years ago, my friend had a few too many the last night in Paris and I had to sit in the middle seat, in the middle row on a NWA DC-10. He was puking every fifteen minutes and the WOMAN sitting next to me had terrible BO. It was the worst/longest flight of my life!!!
Ummm...let me see......
Dirty Martini or Golden Margarita
canoga
11-30-2004, 02:19 PM
Golden Margarita all the way!
Goo Goo Dolls or Goo Goo Cluster?
noflyingfan
11-30-2004, 09:23 PM
I don't like the Goo Goo Dolls, so I'll choose Goo Goo Cluster, even though I don't know what that is. It sounds like candy though.
Cold and bitter winters or disgustingly hot, sticky summers?
spiffyone
11-30-2004, 10:02 PM
The Goo Goo cluster is, I believe, peanuts and chocolate, kind of like a mass of Goobers.
WINTER! Hot weather SUCKS.
Greek food or Indian food?
noflyingfan
11-30-2004, 10:39 PM
I didn't think anyone would agree with me on the winter thing. I love winter!
And if the Goo Goo Cluster is what you say, Spiff, then I'll definitely take that.
WillFlyToDisney2
11-30-2004, 10:57 PM
Goo Goo Clusters have marshmallows in them too. They are everywhere in Nashville if anyone wants me to grab them some this month. :)
Passenger Mark
12-01-2004, 12:59 AM
Hey Spiff!!!
Greek.. Indian food just has too many spices for me!
Ok... here is the Green Acres theme...
1. A fancy high rise apartment overlooking the city
2. A nice cottage with views of the country
noflyingfan
12-01-2004, 03:09 PM
Oh, Mark. You have summed up in two sentences the argument between my boyfriend and me. He's all about the country cottage. I'd like both, but if I have to choose just one, I'll take the high rise, because it's probably closer to a good job.
No hot water or no TV, computer or phone?
(This was inspired by recent events at my house, as I currently have no hot water).
Passenger Mark
12-01-2004, 05:45 PM
No hot water.
I can boil water and put it in a tub, like they did in the old days.
M&Ms
Peanut or Plain? :kneeslap
noflyingfan
12-01-2004, 06:19 PM
I went really old school and heated a pan on the radiator overnight.
I'll take peanut over plain, but peanut butter over peanut.
And speaking of peanut butter, smooth or crunchy?
YankssRule
12-01-2004, 08:34 PM
Smooth and definitely Lord of the Rings.
Books:
Horror or Love Story

Love story for me. Horror stories give me the CREEPS! :shocked
Pen or Pencil?

Migraine or stomach flu?
Passenger Mark
12-02-2004, 05:44 AM

12-02-2004, 07:33 PM
Fruit! I craved fruit like crazy when pregnant with my 2nd child.

Movies or TV?
Passenger Mark
12-03-2004, 04:00 AM
Movies
The Brady Bunch... or... The Simpsons
noflyingfan
12-03-2004, 03:54 PM
I'd like to say The Simpsons, because they're actually funnier, but in my heart of hearts, I have to say The Brady Bunch. My sister and I have had a long-standing Brady Bunch inside joke. We've always wanted to do the sporadic breaking into song and dance like they do in the movies. (In fact, we did, just last week, during her wedding celebration). Remind me to post the photo of me with Barry Williams from when he came through Pittsburgh (I was living there at the time).
So...Brady Bunch or Partridge Family?
Passenger Mark
12-03-2004, 04:56 PM
The Brady Bunch...
The Partridge Family made me nervous! :wired
I grew up watching them... and a few weeks ago I actually got to see the house that all the outside screen shots were made at. It was by accident as I had an inspection across the street. I told the people I was meeting with that the house across the street looked familar. They said "that's the Brady House"!
Here is a photo of what it looks like now. It is in North Hollywood...

Next question...
Going to the Dentist for a root canal ?
Or
Taking a 9 hour flight somewhere fun

Unless the dentist looks like Johnny Depp, I'll take the flight.
Thanks for the picture of the Brady house! That is awesome!

Passenger Mark
12-03-2004, 06:21 PM

Christmas Day or New Years Eve
(:hm we need some holiday emoticons)
:hail Janet
JPenny
12-04-2004, 03:55 AM
Christmas Day, of course, seeing the excitement of the kids as they open their presents and turn the livingroom into a waist-high flood of crumpled paper. Then disappear to their rooms or outside for the rest of the day to play with their new stuff--totally cool!! New Years is kind of anti-climactic and depressing after that . . . you know the getting older stuff, and and auld lang sine . . . .

First Three - especially the very first star wars (episode 4 in the continum)that came out in 1977, because it was something so familiar but so very very different, all at the same time.
I remember walking past a small cinema in Victoria, British Columbia back in 1977 and remember the sign on the marquee advertising the film Star Wars. It was a tiny theatre that definately did not host big-budget, high traffic cinema. I was only 18 years old and had no idea what this film was about other than it sounded interesting.
Well....what a rush, and for the mid-seventies that was something! The typical movie-fare around the time did not even come close to the visual imagery of this film. Loved it then, love it today.
