Monica called from the plane. She was still standing up, in the rear, "flirting" (my word) with the flight attendant. She was stressing about the fact that they haven't taken off yet. People are still boarding. I said, "Monica, it's only 7:24. You're not even due to leave for another 10 minutes!" "Oh", she replied.

She feels "a little claustrophobic - plane's packed - they overbooked", but feeling pretty good. One minute, she's up and the next, we-l-l-l you get the picture. We've all been there. Anyway, Mark, she got your message and thanks you immensely!

She asked me to please put something on the board to thank everyone for their support. As we were talking, they started to make some announcements, and she wanted to hang up to listen to them. Said she's going to try to call back. I thought I'd get this much on while waiting for the call.

Okay, she just called back. A bit panicky because the entire announcement was in Hebrew! (Argh!! What about the movie??!)

She sounded great. Only slightly nervous. Jenny's right next to her.

I made her promise to yell "YaHoo!" for all of us as they take off

Awwww... Monica should be there, and I am sure she is happy to be there! If anyone hears from her, let us know!

Oh, boy -- I love to give good news like this!

Monica called and left a voicemail on my phone early this morning. She said:

"Hey -- The eagle has landed! The worst part of the whole thing was the sore butt I've got from sitting for so long. I did just fine. I'll call you before I leave. Do me a favor and post on the board - tell everyone thanks for their support and send my love."

Yeehaw!!!

WAY TO GO, MON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope you are taking tons of pictures for your trip report. I think Jenny should write a report to and title it "What it is like to sit by my Mom for such a long flight".

Hooray Monica! I knew you could do it!

Gosh, I get a sore butt after the TWO-hour flight! Clearly I'm not cut out for international travel...

I guess a sore butt is something this board can't do anything about! :lol

I knew she would do just fine...as she will on the way back!!!

Well, I did it. And sore butt was the biggest problem. It was crowded and hard to get comfortable. But so what??? I didn't panic ,try to jump off or jump a flight attendant.
On the way to the airport I had about a 10 minute Holy Poop attack. Then my phone beeped 2 messages and it was Mark and Debbie. Debbir made me laugh and I swear they could bottle Mark's voice for a soothing affect. Great drawl. So, I felt better immediately. Had one more 10 minute what am I doing episode. Called Deb, got over it and it was fine the rest of the time. As we took off the woman next to me started crying. You guessed it---her first flight in 15 years. I soothed her!!! Told her all was normal. Lent her Ray's book...
So, I'm here giving my daughter an incredible gift. She has long wanted to come here.By the way, Kelley---Jenny slept sprawled out on me and took the aisle seat the whole way...
I keep thinking of what Ray said "Go and Live Life..." that's what I'm doing. Now I just have to hope the flight back goes as well.
I can honestly say this board is what got me here. So, who's next??? Thanks all.
