I can't believe I missed the promotion of the century! I must be the most oblivious person on earth.
But I read about it on FlyerTalk and it turns out it is retroactive so if anybody here is a Mileage Plus member and has flown United at least twice to/from Denver this year, run-don't-walk to http://www.united.com/page/article/0,6722,51504,00.html?jumpLink=%2Fworldofchoice and redeem your big prizes!
I got 24 credits, which I redeemed for 60,000 miles (had a choice between that and a free international round-trip ticket). The miles showed up in my account instantly. This is a FABULOUS promotion.
It's called "Denver, You Mean the World to Us," and it was done in response to SWA's arrival in Denver late last year. In fact, DEN flights on the routes SWA also flies give you TWO credits so I got double credit for my flights to Phoenix. (Double thanks, Kelley, for the tip about FlyerTalk.)
