So far, it's just one Chinese airline that's pushing this.

I just read the article to someone in the room with me here. He seems convinced that it's a hoax. But I got it from MSNBC, which I do consider to be a legitimate news source, plus it's been several hours since I first came across it. I did a web search to see if other news sources have it posted, and Yahoo! has it, too:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20061130/od_uk_nm/oukoe_uk_china_toilet
I also checked China Southern's web site to see if there was any kind of comment, but there wasn't any, at least not at its English language site:
http://www.cs-air.com/en/
Then again, a lot of U.S. information content web sites are blocked in China, so maybe no one there is aware that this is circulating here, whether it's true or not.
If I had gotten this from a satire/parody page, I would have posted it in Club TF.
I realize that they won't actually prohibit us from visiting the bathroom in flight (at least not yet), but it still sends a message that it isn't something they want us to do.

Hoax or not hoax... I don't see this being a problem in other areas. An airline trying this "ban" would soon be out of business!
