What are you thankful for this year?

I am thankful that I have a wonderful man in my life who loves me, that his family has so readily accepted me as one of their own, as my family has for him.

I am thankful that I have a good job that pays me a wage I can actually live on (this is new for me).

I am thankful that I have almost paid off my stupid stupid credit card debts.

I am thankful for my first really really grown up home where I have my own grown up furniture.

I am thankful that my parents are coming to visit me to see my grown up place and my grown up furniture and the wonderful man and to meet his wonderful family.

I am thankful that I've lost five pounds prior to my parents' visit.

I am thankful for my friends.

I am thankful for TF and the flights I've taken this year and the progress I've made.

And I am thankful for cookies.

I am thankful for my children and the ability to take them on fun trips.

I am thankful for finding the love of my life.

I am thankful for my parents even though they drive me crazy sometimes.

I am thankful for Walt Disney World. Enough said.

I am thankful for the friends I have made on TF - I talk to at least one of them each day either via email, PM or IM. :)

I am thankful for Parmesan Basil Wheat Thins and Krispy Kreme donuts.

I am thankful that Thanksgiving is only 1 day a year!

Sure did. Welcome to America. :D

Which reminds me, I hope that Marco the Newly Minted American will post on his first Thanksgiving as a citizen. :)

Well, there's the friends and family and health and Mac OS X and all that...

But I'm mostly thankful I've got a roof over my head, a safe bed to sleep in, and a fridge full of food to eat. A lot of people can't say that, and really, everything else is just icing on the cake, isn't it?

Just a few thoughts before heading out for the Turkey feast....

First of all, I'm thankful to still be alive here! 10% of my high school graduating class can no longer say that.

Beyond that...I'm grateful for my health, family, friends, a comfortable bed and adequate housing and food.

I'm glad I still have my teeth, and most of my eyesight.

I'm grateful for my education, and that teaching women to read and think for themselves is valued here.

I'm thankful I can fly comfortably again...and thanks to all at TF who have helped in that process by your kind and insightful words and sharing of experiences and knowledge.

I'm thankful for the Internet, computers, and digital cameras, which have increased communications around the world between family, friends, and businesses.

And, I'm really thankful for Google... which has been the next best thing to a brain transplant...without the risks and expense of surgery.

And...lastly, a word of thanks to the troops who are stationed around the world...and a prayer for their safe return home to their families.

I am thankful for my wonderful job.

I am thankful for everything my parents do for me.

I am thankful for the new guy I'm seeing. He drives 4 hours to see me when I could just hop on a 40 minute flight to his place.

I am thankful for my Captain and FO on this trip. They're wonderful.

I am thankful for my wonderful new apartment.

And much much more.

Well, part of Turkey day was good. Tonight...kind of quiet and dull.

I am home alone tonight watching t.v. and nursing a terrible sore throat and ear ache. Woke up this morning around 4 a.m. with a horrific pain in my throat, felt like there was no skin left inside it...nice.

Felt miserable, not to mention dizzy most all day. Don and I went to my mother's house for a Thanksgiving dinner early in the day. We stayed with her through the afternoon and then we came back home, Don packed his overnight bag and headed to Florence, AL to visit his sister. Don's daughter and her little girl went along. I felt so rotten I had to stay behind and try to recover before this gets any worse. I figure I can manage one night on my own and Don needs to visit his sister and brother-in-law as we rarely drive down there. His sis always drives to TN, so it's his turn to go there for a change.

But, overall...even though I'm chillin' at home tonight by my little ole' self, I have lots to be thankful for...overall good health, a great husband, my mom's good health, a stable job and good income, a home of our own... despite a case of FoF, I'm pretty lucky.

Happy Thanksgiving all!

Having overstuffed myself at the Thanksgiving dinner at the neighbors, I went for a long walk, and was thinking of a few more people deserving of thanks today. That would be all the folks who give up spending the holiday with family in order to perform essential services so the rest of us can enjoy our holidays. Thanks to the airline and airport staff (including AZO, and Capt. Ray, John, Falcon, and any of the other pilots posting here who are flying today), hospital staff, police, firefighters, restaurants that are open, serving those not in the mood to cook a holiday dinner, charities feeding the homeless, along with the entire tourist industry serving those who are traveling this holiday weekend, and all the staff at K-mart (1,400 stores open on Thanksgiving, for those who can't wait to start their holiday shopping.... ).

Whew...now I'm going to some other neighbors for another dinner...but will limit myself to a cup of tea, I think!:)

My Mom was able to come home today for a few hours for a Thanksgiving feast that my father insisted on cooking single handedly.

I want to add that I am so thankful for my 2 oldest nephews who are more like brothers to me since we grew up together and were very close in age. I had almost forgotten what wonderful men they have grown up to be and I feel so blessed to have them part of my life caring about me. We all made each other tear up today but in a good way.

:)
