Thanks...it was quite stunning there for some moments...in real life, too! I seem to be drawn toward taking pictures of the engines...and thinking of how hard they work to bring us to our destinations!

I saw an image out the window of an SWA 737 today that made me long to have a camera, and Barb's wonderful photo reminded me of it. The colors at sunset were a perfect match for Southwest's new color scheme--but only for about a minute (!!) and then they faded. And the full moon was rising dramatically above the undercast and sat just over the left wing; it was a jawdropper. But rats, I didn't have a camera!
Barb, I have seen some of those pax photos in Spirit, and yours is an excellent candidate. I hope you submit it.
Just back from fourth trip to LA, and I think the last one (the release date is Dec. 8). Got a few good Maya licks in this round. But they are top secret till the movie comes out..heh heh...and one utterance, at least, will be an in-joke for the very few! ;):lol:
The flying part was great!

Barb...You are such a tease about Apocalypto! But, in a month you can tell all! We will be looking forward to hearing those details, and the "secret in-jokes", should you care to share them!
I was noticing the full moon tonight too on my way home from Costco...but it was already dark, and there was enough moisture in the air that there was a big circular hazy area around the moon. I've so wanted to take an aerial night moonshot...but am thinking it might be difficult if not impossible due to the motion of the plane. (I've never seen such a photo, yet). With my sunset photograph, even at a somewhat slow shutter speed (1/4 sec., -2.0 exposure comp.), the wing is moving at the same speed as the camera. But...the moon would probably be blurry (since it's stationary and the plane is moving). It's the same problem trying to take night aerials of the city lights...it's barely possible at twilight if you are flying really slow and have a camera that can shoot slow shutter speeds/ high ISO. But every time there's a full moon, I think about going up flying, and trying to take a picture of it. I'm wondering if the night before the full moon would work better, when the moon is up just before dark. Of course...each month is different too. Well, sometimes we just have to enjoy the moment, and forget about photographing it! (But I love having a tiny digital camera I can carry in my purse all the time!)
As far as submitting my photo to SWA...I checked that website, and didn't see anything about passenger photo contributions. Suppose I could email the editor and find out the scoop. Thanks for the positive feedback.:)
