Hi. I'm new here and I wanted to introduce myself. I have been working on on this fear of flying that I have for about a year and half now. I just recently read Capt. Stark's book. I emailed him to tell him how much I enjoyed and in his response, he directed me. I'm already a member of the Fear of Flying Forum om MSN under the same screen name.
I took my first in flight in July of 2005 from Detroit to LA. My first flight and I choose a 4 hour flight. Go big or go home..hehe. My second trip came a year later this past 4th of July weekend when I flew to Philadelphia to visit a friend. I flew this time with Southwest (my first time was with Northwest). They treated me great. The FA's and the pilots I met were wonderful and I told them so. That is how I got a copy of Capt. Stark's book which eventually led me here.

Oh for the love of verything sacred and holy! I was not done with that post....grrrrrr...Anyway what I meant to add is that I hope to meet many people that understand what it is like and make a few new friends. And I also hope to help others with my experiences.
Ok...now I'm done:)

Hi, Annie,
We're a very spirited gang over here, and you'll find a lot of people who have had the same concerns that you have and found ways to whittle 'em down. :happyguy: Welcome!
So...you have done two roundtrips now, a year apart, and you have read Captain Ray's book (a lot of us here have it ). And you have had the benefit of the wisdom of Captain Bob and his gallant crew at MSN, too (there are lots of Sheep Dogs over here also :)).
Have you found that some of your fear was simply fear of the unknown and unfamiliar? Or are there still some nagging concerns that need a good drubbing? :boxer:
Do you have any flights coming up this holiday season? Most FoFers find that the work both intensifies and pays off more when there's a flight around the corner. Sometimes it helps if one flies just for practice.
Anyway, thanks for joining and posting. Please don't hesitate to ask questions and put your worries in the spotlight.
Arf!

Thank you for the warm welcome everyone
I have been seeing pictures about the flightfest in Nashville. Could you tell me more about it? :) I'm always into traveling and meeting new people.

Hi Annie and :welcome2: !
We arrange Flightfests all over the world just for the purpose of getting together and meeting. We fly in and have fun. So far we have had get-togethers in San Francisco, Orlando, Phoenix, NYC, Nashville and the UK. (Did I miss any?).
Everyone is welcome! We have a great time. This past weekend in Nashville we were lucky enough to be able to tour the backstage areas of BNA (Nashville airport) and Southwest thanks to our wonderful Captain Ray.
Ask questions and jump into the threads.

That sounds like a lot of fun Kelley :) And Nashville is a great place to go. I went there last March for the day. Since I have a lot of family in the backwoods and mountains of Tennessee, to see something so urban in that state took some getting used too. :)
