No, I don't mean from fiery passion either...

I tasted a red pepper that Don's son had grown in his garden at home and ya'll...I'm on FIRE on my lips and up my nose! I only tasted (then spit out) a tiny little square of it that I had diced.

Now, I have a red area above my lips and apparently, I must have wiped some of it up my nose in my attempt to clear it from my mouth.

Do you know what I can put on my lips, nose to stop this burning sensation??? I look like I put something too hot to my mouth and got burned! OUCH!

:fuming:

OK, just for future reference, if this ever happens to any of you...try putting yogurt on your burning lips. It seemed to neutralize the capsasian in the pepper and eventually cooled me off! It still took a good solid 15-20 minutes until it stopped blazing! YIKES! I'll never so much as look at another red pepper!

Yep I always heard that milk was the best thing - either that or just avoid spicy foods altogether!

Sugar. You need sugar. That's why Indian desserts are always incredibly sweet. That from the Need To Know files. :)

Yoghurt is great for all kinds of ailments.

Greek yoghurt is great if you get prickly heat rash, calms it down in a couple of hours.
