Well, I finally decided to post a couple of pics from my visit to Metropolis. I think this is basically another reminder that when faced with the decision to fly or stay at home, I fly. I'm still a wee-bit mad at myself for missing Philly for this...

The first pic we have here is of the giant Superman that stands on the courthouse lawn, apparently to protect the citizens of Metropolis from all that is evil...

You know, Courtney, the fact that you went to Metropolis, home of Superman, and took pictures of Superman, after backing out of a flight, is sort of symbolic.

After all, that movie had one of the most famous taglines in movie history.

You'll believe a man can fly.

And, don't forget, this line of dialog was in not one, but two of the Superman movies:

Superman: "I hope this doesn't put you off of flying. Statistically, it's still the safest way to travel."

This is more ironic by the day. I was never a big Superman fan, well, not since I was little anyway...but between visiting Metropolis and the book I found...gee whiz!
