Wow - for only $299 you can join the Mile High Club!

Can you imagine being THAT pilot? Hope those headphones are the noise-cancelling variety....

That's just gross. But maybe if those people in that post about the fatal crash had had something like this, they'd be alive today.

Ha ha, that's hilarious. My boyfriend is part of a motorcycle forum and someone posted that link a couple weeks ago.

Yes, but I always wear pajamas when I stay at a hotel, so there's at least a layer between me and whatever is on the sheets.

Makes for an intriguing honeymoon!

I stayed in one of the newer Hampton Inn & Suites in Nashville last year and when I pulled back the covers there were toenail clippings in the bed. EEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWW!

The maids came up and changed the linens but it just gave me the creeps.

I literally almost vomited when I read this. POOR YOU!

My sister and I once stayed in a room where we found a clipping on the carpet (by stepping on it barefoot...) but you've topped us for sure.

WHY would they be in a bed? Sounds like a prank...a demented, evil prank.

So...um..okay. Last night, I had a dream that I was at my parents' house, and I was looking at that site Kelley posted at the beginning of this thread. I was showing it to my family or Matt or someone. (Side note: I was navigating the site on my parents' fridge; there was a big screen on the door, which was pretty cool). Anyway, then Kelley came over and was chatting with my mom as she cooked dinner, and then she and I were chatting, and before I woke up, we headed outside to do something, I don't know what, and Kelley was checking out my mom's dogs on her way out the door.

And here's my analysis of that dream: I spend too dang much time on this site! And also, I've been trying to get my mom to come out and visit me for Thanksgiving, and to meet Matt's family before the wedding, but she's been resisting, because of her dogs and because it's expensive. Plus yesterday I was telling Matt about that site because his brother and dad have a plane, so I said they ought to start Mile High Chicago to make some extra cash. So I had both my parents' potential visit and Matt's family's potential business in my head, and I guess that's why Kelley showed up at my parents' house. Although my mom belongs to a group that's sort of like this but for people with her breed of dog, and in the dream Kelley was part of that group, not this one, so I guess that's why.

Wow. I am honored to have played such a major role in your dream. Your ears must be burning. I just told Kari yesterday she needs to fly to Chicago so we can meet up with you and have a Flightfest where we scope out hot pilots at the airport! :ray: :ray: :ray:

So what kind of dogs does your Mom have??

And more importantly. What was for dinner? Did I remember to tell your Mom about my allergy to onions?

My analysis:

You went to bed without eating dinner

You REALLY want to try the Atlanta flight with Matt

You want Kelley to come distract your Mom while you do the Atlanta flight with Matt!

Kari said:

You know, it only counts if one of you is at the controls ....

I tend to agree with this, while recognizing that there is a safety issue here. Does engaging Otto count? Does that make it a menage-a-trois?

1. I never go anywhere without eating dinner.

2. N-O NO!

3. See above. No flight. No no no no no.

Kelley, my mom has Soft-Coated Wheaten Terriers. I'm not sure what was for dinner. I think maybe spaghetti. But maybe that's because I'm hungry for spaghetti.

I have read this over and over. Can you explain exactly what kind of group your mom belongs to? I'm reading it as your mom belongs to a mile-high club for dogs but I know, or hope, that can't be right.

Ew! No! And shame on you for even thinking so, you sick sick sicko.

I meant a group like TF, an online group. So since Kelley is my online group buddy, she was my mom's online group buddy in my dream.

Oh my...I couldn't age discriminate...a 50ish pilot could be mighty attractive. You know, the Robert Redford look and all...;)

USA Today had an article about the mile high club plane service a couple weeks ago...for complete article, click here (http://www.usatoday.com/travel/flights/2006-09-07-mile-high-club_x.htm)

Interesting statistic,

"Q: Do men or women usually book the flights?
A: About 75% of the flights are booked by women. I've tried to figure that out, and I guess if the guy suggested it to a woman, he would be afraid she'd think he was some kind of pervert. But if the woman suggests it, the man thinks she's hot."

And in response to the above discussion, yes, I think there are "hot" 50ish pilots...lots of them.....!! There's a lot to be said for maturity....and flying experience..... Note that the pilot who started this "service" in Atlanta is 51....

AZO-FA

I don't know of any hot pilots in Chicago, do you? When I was last in Chicago, all the pilots were at least 50. So no hot pilots in Chicago. Ever.

OHHH I don't know about that! I ran into MANY gorgeous pilots while I was waiting around O'Hare on a space available pass. I met the crew of every flight I attempted to board and wowee. These were fresh, young guys, too.

There's old pilots and bold pilots, but no old, bold pilots....

There's nothing quite so reassuring to me as seeing a bit of grey hair on the pilots for my commercial flights, and hearing them say they have been flying for 20-30 years. They have to pass comprehensive medical examinations frequently, hence keep themselves in better shape than the average guy. That's why I think they tend to look "hot" no matter what their age is.

However...when I was 20-25, I was much more attracted to guys my own age...so, Kari and Erika...I do know what you mean.;)

Erika - we've been youngered :D

Yeah, and it's awesome!

I do have to agree with Kari about the pilots, and about the older men. Hot pilots are made even hotter because they are pilots, but being a pilot doesn't automatically make one hot. And generally speaking, someone in their 20s looking at someone in their 50s and going "rowr, break me off a piece of that" is just not right.

I have seen a few young-ish hot pilots in Chicago though. I always get the dad-looking pilot on my flights, but that's alright too.

WillFlyToDisney
09-24-2006, 11:15 PM
Does that mean that I have to stop thinking that Florence Henderson is hot?

You know she did go on a date with Barry Williams who played Greg when they were on the show.... You may have a chance there, Sean!

Oh and the age of the pilot is directly proportionate to the size of the plane. The smaller the plane usually the younger the pilot. Hot young guys fly the CRJs (case in point - our own John Robinson) and the distinguished older gents fly the "heavy" planes - 767s, 777s, 747s, etc...

I can't count how many times I have boarded an RJ and seen some fresh out of college age fella. :ray: Sigh........
