Anyone heard from Kelley? She said something about DRIVING today...wondering if she had an encounter with Ernesto? Hope it wasn't too difficult on the highway.

Yep I was on the road for a glorious 515 minutes driving home to Charleston. I would MUCH RATHER have been on a plane but honestly other than the early rush hour traffic in Atlanta (who would have thought that would happen on a holiday weekend!) the drive was smooth and I hauled bootie in my little Jeep.

Funny story. I left at 11am CST. My route took me thru ATL on my way home. My friend flew from the same starting point to ATL and left 2 1/2 hours after I did and beat me to ATL by a half hour! While I was battling rush hour traffic he was wandering the terminals searching for something good to eat and browsing the book store. His connection in ATL was delayed over an hour but he still made it to Louisiana and picked up his rental car for his weekend trip a good half hour before I got home.

No bad weather - I think I left late enough that I missed it all. I meant to get on the road earlier than I did but I didn't get much sleep last nite so I figured better to drive later than tired. :thumbsup:

I arrived home and a friend from Hawaii stopped by for a visit. His time in the air was not too far off my time on the road! Crazy!

I have to make the trip again in 3 weeks and I am going to beg, borrow or steal to try to keep from driving it again. Ah the cost of working for yourself...
